^^True, although I think a lot of the neutral fans will go for the Packers just because they don't want to see the Steelers win again.

Both fan bases will be well represented and it's an exciting matchup for NFL fans, in general. Should be an electric atmosphere, unlike some other Super Bowls that have felt more corporate.

Read where no structural damage with Pouncey..which is good news!

GB is favored in this one...and rightfully so.

Gonna be a good one.....that is fo sho. I just hope the steelers can hang with the GB offense.

I imagine there will be less steelers fans, percentage wise, than there was the last two SB appearances because of the fan base by GB.

Yeah...this isn't some blah fanbase whose team had a fluky great season like Seattle or Arizona were. This is a large, proud fanbase that will be out in droves. I'd imagine it will be an amazing atmosphere only marred by the fact that it will be two no-holds-barred cold-weather teams playing in fucking Dallas' fancy state-of-the-art new stadium instead of in frozen arctic conditions like they should be.

The roof will be closed, too.

So it will feel like a dome.

I'd rather the game be played at like the Rose Bowl or Miami, at least outdoors.

The Steeler fans have gone in to places like Dallas during the regular season and have literally taken the place over. Remeber Tony Dungy pleading with Colt fans to not sell their tickets to Steeler fans? They will take the place over, it's going to happen. I know a ton of people from Pittsburgh who have already made their plans and there's thousands more like them. Throw in all the displaced Pittsburghers in that area of the country (especially in Texas) and you can be guaranteed that they will outnumber the Packer fans by a very wide margin.

Disagree Rock.....It will be much, much closer to 50/50 I bet because of the GB fan base, and with it the 3rd in 6 years there is a certain segment of the steelers fanbase that have went to one, or both, and just will not go.

Thats my opinion at least.

We will see. I just think there's too many Steelers fans scattered all over the country.

This is from 2008, but the top two fanbases in terms of travel were the Packers (#1) and the Steelers (#2):

I didn't see anything in that article regarding who travels the best. Nothing against the Packers, I have a ton of respect for them and their fans but the Steeler Nation will travel to Dallas in huge numbers and will pay next to anything to get in to this game, they won't disappoint in that regard.

This may be the first super bowl in a long, long time that pretty much the whole stadium will be full of true fans of the teams.

I cannot fathom what it would take to get a ticket this year. We tried for it in detroit but it was just too pricey.

No way the Packers have a bigger presence in other stadiums than Steelers fans.

Not week to week during the regular season. I've heard a lot of people like Al Michaels, Mike Tirico and Scott Van Pelt and so forth give that nod to the Steelers by a lot. It's unofficial but it's completely obvious if you just watch the NFL a lot.

Now I will say for this game I think it will be pretty even. The Packers haven't made the Super Bowl in awhile so a lot more of their fans will jump at the opportunity to go where as the Steelers just had two recently and maybe some fans won't pay the money for another trip.

I went to the game in Tampa but I was only living two hours away. My cousin flew down and we drove to the game. It only cost me the $1000 for the ticket.

I'd say you're probably looking at between $1,200-$1,500 for a ticket, $400-$500 plane and with food probably between $2,000-2,500.

Tickets are running about $2,500 for the low end, just peeking on some of the major ticket sites.

I agree with Non, that nod goes to the Steelers. I'm telling you guys right now, the Steeler fans will be their in droves, expect them to take Dallas over.

I had thought the steelers NEVER had them...but when we toured Heinz a few years ago the tour guide said in a game many, many years ago a steeler fumbled right in front of the cheerleaders...and the owenr got mad and said they were a distraction.

Do not know if the tour guide was embelishing thoug..

Staubach as a presenter sucks. My dream was Goodell would have to hand the Steelers the trophy and Tomlin would send Harrison to the podium to receive it.

According to ESPN today the ticketsales are 2-1 in favour of Wisconsin to Pennsylvania .. suprising to me .. wish I could afford to go ...

Wisconsin Badgers has by far the largest travel fan base in all of college football .. Its true they have always done it so its not suprising that Green Bay is doing this .. cmon Stiller nation we have a reputation to uphold
