I'm concerned a little bit about the neutral field. Packers won all three games on the road. Steelers won two games at home.

Usually home field isn't that big a deal but I thought they fed off the crowd this year. It helped.

Steelers record was better on the road.....

It does seem like the defense feeds off the crowd.

I look for a 50/50 split in fandom at this one

The Steelers and Packers played the following common opponents in 2010:

Atlanta:
Steelers won in Pittsburgh 15-9 (OT)
Packers lost in Atlanta 20-17
Packers won in Atlanta 48-21 (Divisional Round)

New England:
Steelers lost in Pittsburgh 39-26
Packers lost in Foxboro 31-27

New York Jets:
Steelers lost in Pittsburgh 22-17
Steelers won in Pittsburgh 24-19 (AFC Championship)
Packers won in New Jersey 9-0

So the Pack are a combined 2-2 versus these three teams, and the Steelers are a combined 2-2.

This was the best Heinz Field advantage I've seen.

It was a dramatic difference between the regular season environment and the playoffs this year.

But historically the Steelers travel well. They've won a lot of big games on the road in recent years.

Steelers starting defense

DE-Ziggy Hood
NT-Casey Hampton
DE-Brett Keisel
OLB-James Harrison
ILB-Lawrence Timmons
ILB-James Farrior
OLB-LaMarr Woodley
CB-Ike Taylor
CB-Bryant McFadden
FS-Ryan Clark
SS-Troy Polamalu

That defense is pretty much stacked.

Even moving forward, Hood or Smith will battle for that DE spot. They'll be good there.

Farrior is getting old but if they were forced to play Larry Foote I don't think they'd lose much.

The one major upgrade spot would be the CB opposite Taylor. McFadden and Gay are okay but when you look at the other players, that stands out as being below the level.

It's semi-hilarious that Lil Wayne is a Packer fan. Random. Also random that Dennis Leary and Erin Andrews are fans.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Sing us a song, Ben Roethlisberger, you're the Piano Man.

The Steelers quarterback, who served a four-game suspension to start the season for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy, spent the night out on the town, treating his offensive linemen to dinner.

Roethlisberger, who will start Sunday in the Super Bowl, was later spotted at a piano bar, where TMZ offered internet footage of the quarterback singing Billy Joel's "Piano Man."

The website said Roethlisberger spent about $1000 at the bar - $800 tab plus $200 tip - and was nice, fun and "took care of everyone."

On Wednesday, Roethlisberger acknowledged going out and said he takes his linemen out every Tuesday night when they go to the Super Bowl.

No. I remember reading that he was a Pack fan from his blog when he was writing for ESPN.

tom (boston)

i know you love the red sox and bruins, but wheres the love for the patriots
Denis Leary (12:25 PM)

I am a Packers fan. When I was growing up, my older brother and I had to share this room in the attic in the first building we lived in and then the basement. It was basically the Vietnam war re-enacted every day. He was a Pats fan and to piss him off, I picked the Packers because they were the good team in the 60s.

Hmmmm I remember him pimping the Saints last SB, and that is his hometown team.

Yeah I used the term pimping as a 44 year old man. That's pimping pimping. FWIW I have three teenage sons so I have to hear Weezy more than I would like to.
