If you're not in the military and otherwise could be, then by definition you are a slacker.

I think everyone should join one branch of the arm forces.... at some point before the age of 27 or be drafted for 2 years..

I think it's dumb that anyone would think someone is less because he or she isn't/wasn't in the military.

And I think that our government has an excessive budget and that the biggest bloat is in the military, so instead of compelling everyone to join I think that we need to stop fighting meaningless and unnecessary wars halfway around the world and reduce the size of the military. I respect anyone who chooses to join the military and have many friends and relatives who have done so, but by no means do I feel that it is a civic duty that should be forced on everyone, or that you are less of a person for not serving in the military.
