So...lady's a dumbass who was rightly clowned on for being a dumbass, so she wants to "explore legal options". Her and her lawyer need clubbed like baby seals.

for the record, she said no one came to her aid, but in the original video you see a janitor leave the screen then come back and talk to her while she's standing out there getting his nice clean floors soaked. i imagine he asked if she was alright.

If someone can sue McDonalds over hot coffee and win, she will sue the mall and win too.

It's a fucking joke.

Okay, the lady is a moron, I agree, HOWEVER, if you listen to what the lawyer is saying, he is NOT saying that he is suing because she fell into the fountain, that's not what the lady's issue is. The issue is someone who works in the security office and has access to the videotape system of the Mall security basically stole the videotape (by copying it onto their cell phone) and that person then downloaded it onto YouTube for the whole world to see, thus, making this formerly unkown person a laughing stock. THAT is the issue they are looking into. When you look at it in that aspect, the Mall employee who stole this video footage and made it public should, at the very least, be terminated. Just because a lawyer says they are looking into their options, that doesn't necessarily mean they are looking to sue. Maybe a public apology by the Mall Management (that one of their employees stole this videotape) would be in order here at the very least.

I agree that the mall cops shouldn't have leaked the video but I don't think I could have kept that to myself either. This woman is an idiot and she deserves to fall into a fountain. Imagine if she walked out into traffic and got hit by a car. She could have scratched someone's paint!

Attorneys!!! Are 75% of the problem. Obviously an attorney was willing to represent her. Attorneys are f'in ambulance chasers.

Attorneys keep people honest. If they can get rid of this employee who stole the surveilance video, who's to say that the next think he would have stole was someone's credit card number from a purchase made at the mall. They are a necessary evil.

Interesting hypothetical!

Marrero [Fountain Lady], 49, was charged in October 2009 for allegedly using a coworker's credit cards to make more than $5,000 in purchases at a Target and a Zales jewelry store

Stole the videotape??? I didn't hear anyone make the claim that the videotape was stolen. I'm pretty sure that the mall concourse is a PUBLIC place and there is no expectation of privacy.
No one knew who this person was in the video until she came forward. To file a lawsuit over this is precisely why we need Tort reform now.
You could also tell that George Stepanofolis was trying real hard not to laugh during the entire interview. It was funny and she has no one to blame but herself. i just hope she doesn't do this while she is driving and really hurt someone.

This is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever read. That's like jaywalking and then deciding to traffick heroin. It doesn't always work like that.

What the lady should have done is: nothing.

Basically boils down to this:
do nothing = look stupid
sue the bastards = look like a bitch, and look stupid to a greater audience when sites like Yahoo pick it up
