Yeah, i'm serious, and I don't disagree with the " a little day to pamper the lady" but do you really need it to be Feb 14th every year to be that day? I just don't get why people feel they have to do all those things because its Valentines day.

But his presence turned that thread from a great thread into the greatest thread of all time. Let's face it: until Def came on with his "I know that girl and what you did and you're going to pay!" posts, it was just a funny LOLWUT?! sort of thing. But Def got Matt to be all like, "Uhh...I was just making that up...you know...yeah..." and then leave the site because everyone was like, "Suuuurrrrreeeee you were, tard-banger!"

So Def deserves credit for adding to the hilarity.

You act like no one pampers their sig other other than v-day. V-day is nationally known, like Christmas what are you getting type questions. That is all this thread is. Does that mean I don't buy something nice for my girl on some random Monday during the year, no!

No personal attacks or unwarranted name-calling. Just because someone has a different opinion doesn't mean they're an idiot.
This was warranted as the guy was clearly being ridiculous. While I don't exactly condone it, it can easily be argued it was deserved in this instance which distinguishes it from yours.

When posters try to push the rules to the limit, don't be surprised when you receive an infraction for it. Easy way not to get infractions is refrain from being an asshole.

Also, I would like to point out that we do not aim to please each and every whim of all the posters on this site. We make and enforce the rules to keep it running as smoothly as possible and promote discussion more than just verbal jabs.

It's the same reason girls want diamond rings when they get engaged. They EXPECT one, and especially their friends expect that if she is engaged that she has a ring to show for it. Valentine's day is really a less important version of that. You don't want to be the female that's asked "Hey what do you get for Valentine's day" and have to say "Nothing".
