I know there is a lot of hostility especially between OSU fans and everyone else because there are certain things that bother you about your own team's insecurities. I was wondering what your insecurities about your team that you would like me to avoid in the future, so I may no longer "troll" your team.

As far as me and OSU, there is nothing more annoying than poking fun at the OOC schedule. The schedule isn't great, you won't find more than 100 fans that think its the best, but its not terrible either. Especially considering that most teams do the EXACT SAME THING. OSU schedules are basically setup as 2 instate patsies, 1 other random patsy, and 1 big time OOC game. The constant harassment about this is not only annoying, but like beating a dead horse.

Thoughts?

when someone comes on a thread and acts like they like the team being discussed, and then proceeds to subtly tear it down (as if nobody realizes what they're doing)

I know exactly what you mean, but there is a fine line between doing that and being critical of your team and not just agreeing with everyone else. There are a few posters here who I think have good perspective and create good posts that aren't 100% positive all the time. I like to read their input. But some of the posters here are just fake buckeyes IMO.

I always appreciate Dynastys posts. I may not always agree with them but I think he has a unique perspective. I think Tobias is a Notre Dame fan. Herbstreit gets paid really well to have an unbiased opinion. I won't hold that against him, but I don't think he can complain if current buckeyes want to respond when he criticizes them.

idk seems to my thedynasty never has anything positive to say about osu and just disagrees with people just to do it. Tobias claims to be an osu fan and nd fan..but he is clearly a nd fan.I think herby takes his "unbiased" opinion overboard. I think someone told me before the bowl games he had osu ranked #6..than after we beat arkansas he moved us back to #9

He says I am a fake Buckeye because while I go to Ohio State, I hate Terrelle Pryor and don't think very highly of most of the players or program. I don't know how a student of the school is fake. I don't claim to support Terrelle Pryor, and make no effort of hiding the fact that I hope they lose a few games each year that they shouldn't just so sleeper will come back from from his high horse and realize Ohio State hasn't always been on top of the Big Ten and will not always be in the future.

He did. My roommate was livid about it, said he "hopes he gets busted for sexual harassment or something during the offseason" so that he never had to "hear his sorry ass opinion ever again!"

I thought it was funny because moments before I ranked Ohio State #9 in the final poll on here. :D

Well said and I share the same annoyance. I get it mostly from my friend who is all about Notre Dame. Outside of USC they play a comparable schedule so I don't get the argument but any time Ohio State loses I cringe when I see a text from him because most likely it says "that's what happens when you finally play a good team" or something to that effect.

The problem I see with Ohio State's schedule is that it relies heavily on how good that "OOC traditional power" is. It's a home run effort when Texas and USC are elite, but everyone laughs when Washington or Miami aren't bringing it. Is it Ohio State's fault the teams have fallen after they scheduled them? No, but no one cares either. It looks even worse when you lose to Wisconsin and you have absolutely no quality wins to aid your cause. Iowa? Meh. Penn State? Meh. Ohio State's reputation got them into the BCS this season.

That said Ohio State should be given credit because plenty of teams aren't willing to schedule any non-cream puffs in their OOC.

Also Notre Dame's schedule was widely viewed as one of the toughest in the country this season, and Ohio State's....wasn't. Not sure about the comparison.

I suppose I should have added trash talking by teams that would get decimated by superior teams. I'd mention the name, but it'd be trolling(actually it wouldn't be, but I don't want to hurt someone's poor feelings on my first day back).

Ironic, I start a thread about what irks people to prevent trolling and specifically mention OSU's OOC schedule and the topic of discussion quickly reverts to that.

Trolling? Yes. However, I will let it slide simply because I'm not a crying vagina when people talk poorly about my team.

Carry on.

Usually people who haven't watched a single game or can name a single player on the team, but still think they can throw their two cents in. I had a buddy telling me about how bad Cincy was last year and that they were completely overrated, then proceeded to ask me who was on their schedule. If you don't know who they played and beat then how can you know if they are good or not?

All you had to do is watch them in the Sugar Bowl last season. ;)

He does. He even admitted to purposely getting under people's skin.

Good post and I agree with what you had said. I admittingly did not look into ND's schedule this past season. Just basing it off memory of ND playing B10 schools, some ACC/Big East like BC and UConn who IMO are on the same level as a Northwestern or when they're decent, Illinois. Then the annual game with Navy when the Bucks played Navy last season.

You said it in your post though. It isn't OSU's fault when other BCS schools like Washington, Miami, and Colorado in 2011 have dropped from where they were when the game was scheduled. I just wish more fans realized schedules are made years in advance and not based on the past seasons results.
