I know Maty Mauk is only a sophmore, but maxpreps has him as the 3rd leading passer in the nation. No other Ohio player is even on the national radar. I thought they'd almost have to give it to him.

When you have like 200-250 more attempts than the guy behind you, its really not as impressive to have such numbers.

^He'll get his. This award will almost never go to a sophomore, although he was more deserving than the winner.

Again, no shot on Howard. We might as well congratulate the kid. He put up some impressive numbers in his own right and he's been rewarded for his talents. He's a good player, just don't think he's Mr. Ohio. Didn't think he was last year and definitely don't think he is this year.

Percy Gardner-2006 Dover-had very similar stats and was not in the running. GL to him next year.

No disrespect but cant remember last time winner was legit "best player" or "mr. football" but this is no surpise since the winner usually goes to OSU and makes their recuiting class look better !!! Article above states osu is on his list !!!

OSU may be on his list, but as far as I know they have no offered him a scholarship and I'll be VERY, VERY, VERY surprised if they do.

IMO, the last 5 have been BS. The 4 before that, Sutton, Williams, Mauk and Clarett were legit.
