My point with Jiminy Cricket is that there isn't really any discussion here because North Carolina isn't really in first place of the ACC. Also, I found Jiminy interesting and wanted to share with others.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't aware that a tie-breaker was needed at this point. I was under the delusion that the result of next Saturday's game would determine the #1 seed in the "Duke Invitational", thus no need for a tie-breaker.

I'm well aware of the fact that the official ACC Champion is the winner of the ACC Tournament, but finishing first in the conference over a 16 game schedule is something that I enjoy. I think dook fans would enjoy it more if they had as many first place finishes as Carolina, but instead they simply tout their ACCT Titles, and rightfully so. However, I'm quite sure that the fellas in Derm are putting forth maximum effort to finish ahead of Carolina in the "regular season cloth race".

On a much more important, and disappointing, note, it appears that Reggie Bullock may be done for the season. He aggravated the injury to his knee in the game against Maryland and underwent an MRI this evening. I haven't seen any complete confirmation yet, but the word on the street is that he's done for the season.

Reggie has been struggling to find his shot, and the constant problems with his knee are likely part of that, but he'll definitely be missed if he is out. Leslie McDonald, who played very well last night, will get extended minutes and he'll have to be on top of his game.

Your delusion was only interrupted by a small technicality. If Duke were to go on to take first place in the ACC Tournament with a victory on Saturday, which would be the fourth straight for the Devils over UNC and 21 out of the last 30 over the Heels, then Duke would have stood atop the standings all year without an equal. (21 out of 30! GIANT EYE WINK). That's all I'm saying. No worries:)

Although actually kind of trivial considering the real implications of Saturday's game, that point was just something to start some banter. This is Rivalry In Blue week. As one of my favorite rappers, Krayzie Bone, once said, "I feel so zigidy zigidy zigidy, `cause I`m floating in ecstasy." I LOVE this week. Being that the game is on national TV prime time Saturday, I am practically buoyant, but incredibly nervous.

Hate to hear that about Bullock, though. Really. Obviously, I know how that feels.

I just want to see both teams win on Wednesday. Then I'll start getting nervous about Saturday.

Who am I kidding? I don't want Duke to win on Wednesday. I'd have a constant smile on my face leading up to Saturday if Clemson ruined senior night for Smith and Singler. I know it's not to be though. A senior night celebration in Durham is only in jeopardy when the Heels come to town.

That has happened 2 times since 1997 (last 15 years). Lol. Duke, on the other hand, since 1997, has won on Senior Night at the Dean ... [DRUM DRUM DRUM DRUM] 2 times.

Other than that, since 1997 Duke is 10-5 versus North Carolina inside Cameron and 8-6 at the Dean. I like those numbers a lot.

How many other times has Duke lost at Cameron on Senior Night during that span?

By the way, you're living too far in the past. I'm thinking more in terms of two out of the last three at Cameron on Senior Night! :)

Duke has only lost on Senior Night in Cameron twice since 1997 (the two Hansbrough victories).

Misread this is originally. Outside the two Carolina losses, Duke lost on Senior Night in Cameron in 2001 and 2007, both times to Sweat and Maryland.

I'm not saying he doesn't work hard on the sidelines, but God damn. I have seen coaches work 100 times harder than him and not sweat half as much lol

Reggie Bullock tore his lateral meniscus in the Maryland game and is officially out for the season. He'll have to have surgery in the near future to repair the damage. This is the same knee that Reggie had an operation on last year. Hopefully he has speedy recovery and is completely healthy next season so we can see the real Reggie Bullock. Gotta feel bad for the guy after losing his grandmother last month and now having to sit out at the most important juncture of the season. Rough start for a talented young player in Chapel Hill.

You're right, heelz. This will definitely give Reggie some extra motivation.

He has shown some flashes of the player he is expected to be, but overall, he just hasn't been shooting the ball well. He has found other ways to contribute since his shot wasn't falling, but it's pretty obvious that his struggles were at least partially related to the knee injury. Hopefully they get it taken care of and Reggie is at 100% next season. He has great potential.

Carolina will now have an 8-man rotation and that includes Justin Watts, who really isn't much of an offensive threat at all. As I said a few posts ago, McDonald is really going to have to step up. He did against Maryland with 15 points...hopefully he's getting hot at just the right time.

Just so we're clear, if Duke were to win in Chapel Hill on Saturday, the Heel loss doesn't fall on Reggie's grandmother being in a box. (I don't really expect that to be funny, but it just seemed right.)

On a serious note, I feel for the position Reggie has been put in. You hate to see a kid lose out on part of their college career because of an injury. It's the worst. That's the most apt way to describe it.

I don't know. I'm not sure they will be able to eat breakfast for the next 5 days.
