The other day I was at my grandson (3 years old) pre-school to pick him up. Not thinking I reached into my pocket for some money to buy him a coloring book ( book sale to raise money). I pulled out my money and the knife the lady at the counter looked at me in shock. (I think she pee her pants) Note: She was a younger lady I would say 27 year would an older lady 55 year be as shocked to see a man carrying a pocket knife?) I then realized about the knife. I quickly apologized and comment that I always carry a pocket knife from my childhood. I’m not to sure she understood the what was then and what is now ..common place.
Because others at the school know who I am from my kids and now my three other grandkids attending the same school the situation was quickly dropped.
I was thinking all this time my kids where in school, all the sporting events, church events and school actives my kids and I was involved in and I never thought about that knife.
What was once normal is now reason to be paranoid. ..I find this to be sad for our society…
