Duke loses to Florida State 66-61 .... Buckeyes SHOULD be #1 when the next poll comes out

Nice, now OSU needs to start playing like the # 1 during the rest of the big ten season/tourney.

Ohio State needs to get past Penn State on Saturday first. One thing at a time...

Duke had no chance tonight.
The reason they lost(well other than FSU being the better team tonight), 35 three point shots. Only made 11. They also shot 31% overall. That is bad.

They had every chance to win it. They got every call in the last 12 minutes.
Fsu had chances to cave and didn't.
Duke was shooting nothing but 3's and doing a lot of standing around.

Like I said, Duke had no chance tonight. Even with the calls they were getting(not as many as you think), they couldn't do anything other than chuck up 3's.

No Irving, this is what Duke is.
with Irving they win the national title.
OSU is a decent team, but they need someone in crunch time to step up. I don't know who that is right now. I think Lighty?
They will be tested plenty in conference, will have a good run to March. They are incredibly balanced.

duke's interior offense has disappeared. Mason Plumlee had been putting up decent offensive numbers and giving duke an interior presence, but that changed when Irving went down.

We needto enjoy being number one. I doubt it'll last. Just too many tough games to play. But a win Saturday, and we can enjoy it for a little while anyway.

Do you think that right now OSU is a great team? The last two games they have been quite pedestrian offensively. Defensively they have been great, and that is more than enough to carry them at this point. Sullinger will not be having games of 25/10 with regularity in the big ten. Officiating lets interior players bang much more than other conferences.
I think Decent is apt, as at this point there are no great teams. Many decent teams nothing great thus far.

Ohio State is a TEAM, they have 5 guys that can be counted on in crunch time. It's up to the opponents, who they don't want to take away. As a TEAM they do a hell of a job finding that guy.

You are correct there are no GREAT teams, but decent?? Carolina is decent, winning games they should, losing the ones they should lose.
Duke, OSU, Cuse, Kansas, etc are not decent teams. They are way above that.
And I guess since OSU is decent and they a beat less than decent FSU team and Duke just lost to that same less than decent FSU team, that makes Duke less than decent, right?

Didn't ccrunner say Seth Curry would step in and Duke wouldn't miss a beat with Irving out?

At least be semi-knowledgeable when you post. 25????? Sullinger averages 17.5swamisez;636510 wrote:Do you think that right now OSU is a great team? cc spouts a lot of nonsense, hard to remember specifics. Curiously absent I see.
As for OSU being "decent", they are, but they're also pretty damn good. If somebody has to be #1 right now it may as well be them but as a fan I hate it. That shit gets into players heads.

I thought the Duke fans said this was the best team in college basketball since the 2001 Duke team(the last time they claimed they had the best team of all time)? Heck even OSU was able to overcome a terrible offensive day at FSU, and they won convincingly.

FSU plays some damn good defense, really athletic, strong. They take it personal.

See you just admitted you said 25. Show us where I said "averages 25", I DARE YOU. BTW, only a fool would say anything about 25(like you did) when he only averages 17.5. I SAID "averages" 17.5, NOT 25.swamisez;636529 wrote:did i say he averages 25? no, i said he wouldn't be having 25/10 games with regularity. Try reading for accuracy

That is what makes what OSU did to FSU in the Big Ten ACC so remarkable. They shot the ball well and it opened things up inside. FSU doesn't yield much of anything to anyone in the paint, and OSU found a way. Great win. The 44 points FSU scored against OSU isn't out of the question because their offense is so bad, but to do it when FSU is at home playing a top 10 team that is pretty impressive.
