Former UMass coach and Miami OC; will be interesting to see if he can continue the success of Holtz and Edsall there.

Edit: Whipple will not be the next HC, it will be Dallas Cowboys DC (and former Syracuse HC) Paul Pasqualoni.

Not a good hire IMO. He was getting crap down at Miami the past couple of years for the job he was doing.

If Shannon would have had the sack to dismiss Whipple or over ride his calls more often he probably would still be HC at Miami.

I think the larger boosters at UCONN were not happy with the un-sexy candidate in Whipple. Pasqualoni has a lot of clout in recruiting the northeast and has succeeded in the BE in the past.
