Its not like the players are slipping because of huge chunks of sod are being ripped up. Its not the surface's fault they are slipping. TCU had the same problem with the new Nike cleats.

anybody who still thinks it's Nike's fault the players keep slipping...just rewind that last play. Auburns player slipped, that helped James get a huge gain

Yes its sod that was just laid this week. Which has not had enough time to set in fully so it does have a slippery feel to it.
