Hustle guys are not worth 7 mill a year, however this argument has been going on for at least a year and a half.
And Manny Harris could of used another yr in college and hed of gone first round IMO, kinda surprised he didnt get picked as well. Didnt watch the game, is he still skin and bones or did he bulk up a little since his Michigan days?

Come on... Andy is much more than a hustle guy. You guys don't like him, point blank, so you look past everything else he does. He's almost averaging 10/10 at 9.1 PPG and 9.7 RPG which is better than the league average. He's getting paid what basically equates to a little more than the MLE. He's DEFINITELY WORTH IT.
As for Manny, he's not as skinny as he was last year, he's added a little more muscle, but his game is as good as ever.

And don't worry HB, as a Nuggets fan, you'll soon feel our pain about going from contender to nothing in no time

I know, cant wait to be a lottery pick in the making. Maybe we'll actually get a draft pick for a change. I honestly cant remember the last player the Nuggets themselves drafted (Traded for Ty Lawson)

1 pick in the last 4 drafts, 8 in the last 8. Holy crap.

+1. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't understand the NBA or how it works.

I was a big fan of Manny Harris in college and really thought he could be a solid contributor in the NBA. He just knows how to score the ball. I don't know if he will ever be a great player, but if he has already proved himself as a contributor in the NBA.
Varejao has been discussed in detail, I think we all know who stands on what side of that debate.

I always thought Manny Harris was a player while he played for tsun. When he decided to come out after his junior season, it was obvious he felt that he did not fit in with Beilein's style and that his stock would not improve much from another year in school. I was surprised that someone did not take him in this draft. He average about 17ppg/6rpg/4apg for his career. His FG% was never very high, but I think he may have tried to do too much for the lousy team he was on. He was labeled as a poor shooter from the perimeter by most draft analyst. That, along with his thin frame hurt his draft stock. But the kid is very quick and athletic, and was very productive in the Big Ten. If he continues to improve his perimeter jumper and puts on some weight, he has the chance to be a rotational player. It will be interesting to see his progression this year.
I also like what I have seen out of Kid Congo since he has been brought back from the DLeague. His athleticism is off the charts. His speed and leaping ability is probably as good or better than any wing in the league. He is also a little bit better of a player than I had expected. If he continues to absorb coaching and learn the NBA game he has a chance to stick. Eyenga and Harris aren't going to be all-stars but there is a chance that there could be a starter and a good bench player between those 2. Something I had not expected before the start of the season. Both are both only 21 and have alot of developing especially physically, but they do appear to have some potential.

Since you set yourself up to look foolish, I'll go to the facts. Below are some guys who would be considered comparable in statistics to Varejao, their stats, and their salary.Commander of Awesome;631877 wrote:+1. Anyone that says otherwise doesn't understand the NBA or how it works.
Tyson Chandler - 9.0, 9.3, $12.6
Marcus Camby - 6.3. 11.4, $11.7
Okafor - 10.8, 10.0, $11.5
Brandon Bass - 11.2, 5.4, $4.0
Marc Gasol - 11.5, 7.3, $3.5
Kris Humphries - 8.5, 9.2, $3.2
Roy Hibbert - 13.2, 8.2, $1.7
Javale McGee - 9.2, 8.0, $1.6
Hickson - 10.9, 5.5, $1.5
Serge Ibaka - 9.7 ppg, 6.7 rpb, $1.2 million
Others worth comparing:
Nene - 15.0, 7.6, $11.3
Luis Scola - 19.3, 8.2, $7.7
Chris Andersen - 5.4, 6.2, $4.5
Haslem - injured, $3.5
DeJuan Blair - 7.1, 6.5, $900k
So for someone to say that those who argue that Varejao is paid too much don't understand how the NBA works, they should probably think before speaking...

LMAO way to post almost all rookie players still on their rookie deal. When you stop talking out of your ass, the higher paid players like Chandler, like Camby aren't on their rookie deals which AV isn't on his rookie deal. LOLFAIL as usual, if I havent already dealt it out, you would have earned IPOTW for an OC record lead.thedynasty1998;632212 wrote:Since you set yourself up to look foolish, I'll go to the facts. Just like when you claimed cavs fans stated that JJ will be an all star by now, but then you couldn't even provide one name that actually said that? You are amongst the biggest hypocrites on this site. Spewing bullshit is 95% of what you do here.

LMAO pwned. I can picture his smug look on his face when he did "his reasearch" at NBA.com for stats and salaries only to have it blown apart in 3 sec by some people who actually understand the NBA. lolfail of large proportions. Fail of the day for sure.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think most of the Cavs fans on here were all over JJ's nuts for the last 2 years.

Yep, still waiting for the evidence that some knowledgeable posters said that Mo Williams and AV were HOFers. Lets see the evidence Dynasty.

Record timing for you! Congrats! You were able to login, post your response, then change usernames, post another response, and then log back into the original all within like 4 minutes. And you really want people to believe that you don't have two usernames...
As for your reply, it was expected. I left that door open for you, knowing exactly what your response would be. So predictable it's sad.
Yet, less than half the guys I mentioned are in their rookie deals. I can provide more guys to support my argument if you want? And what's funny, is that several teams are getting the same production from their young guys as the Cavs are getting from one of their "most valuable" players.
The funniest part is that you think it's foolish to discuss whether Varejao is worthy of his pay. You are obviously entitled to an opinion, but when you make comments that anyone who disagrees doesn't know the NBA only makes you look even more foolish than most people think of you.

Wow, nice fail arguement you got there, what you're not going to claim I'm SQ? You've given that FAIL up? They've ran IP checks and I know its hard to think that anyone besides me can pwn you as hard, but Hoops, Like_Dat, BR, KR and myself are not all the same person. Just going to have to except the fact that most if not all posters on here besides Capone, think you're an idiot.
As to your second point, when you take out the rookies then the salaries are actually very close, so it negates your arguement (which I think you're trying to make, at least. Even though it comes off as idiot trolling/being a dumbass, all 3 of which are probably the case). So Chandler, Camby etc.. are all as productive as him yet make quite a bit more, in fact I would say in comparision to them AV is a bargain. So lolfail. I have to do it, sorry wiggens, but....
IPOTW dynasty, congrats on now having a 2 IPOTW lead for the league leader in IPOTWs on OC.

I'll "except" the fact that you can't "except" the fact that Varejao is arguably overpaid.
Out of all the guys listed, you use Camby and Chandler in your argument rather than all the others that were listed. Makes sense.
