smh pick
Makes as much sense as what you are basing Andrew Luck's potential on.

A lot of time between now and the draft but the more & more I think about it, I can't see Holmgren allowing the Browns to bring in a QB like RG3. He and Shurmur are so rigid in their antiquated WCO system that I just don't see them willing to adapt to his skill set. RG3 is the kind of QB that you adapt your system to and build around. I don't see the current regime being flexible enough to adapt.

Pashos is no world beater but he's better than any RT the Browns have. He's been ruled out for Sunday. Seneca better have his track shoes on.

Well, turns out I do get to go to this game after all. I just hope to god we pull a miracle. I hate leaving the stadium after losing to the Steelers.

It's a win-win situation really. They win, then great fuck the steelers...if they lose, great our draft pick gets better

As an FYI, Matt Flynn has been mentioned as a potential FA target of Heckert/Holmgren (not interested, personally). He will be starting in place of Aaron Rodgers tomorrow.

Now another option I could see, if the Browns hire Mike Sherman as their offensive coordinator, is Ryan Tannehill with their second 1st rounder.

If the Browns are set on not drafting a QB, you have to look at everyone. If Flynn is better than McCoy, why not try to sign him to a 3 year deal. Then you can draft a QB in 2013 and maybe even sit him a year behind Flynn.

Wouldn't make any sense to me. Why not take Griffin with their 1st pick then? He is much better than Tannehill.

Highly doubt that happens. Would be the biggest waste of a 1st round I have ever seen

I'd be supremely pissed if we drafted Tannehill. He's a project QB and probably won't be ready to start in the NFL for a few years.

And as I mentioned before, if we sign Matt Flynn I will probably resign as a Browns fan.

Do you think he would be too expensive? Why be opposed to bringing in someone to compete for a starting job?

Kinda the way I feel if I have to watch Charlie Frye Jr (McCoy) under center next year. Don't want Flynn either.

I just get this feeling that Shurmur/Holmgren won't be flexible enough to utilize RG3's attributes thus passing on him. It would piss me off but I could see it happening in favor of someone like Tannehill who Holmgren could 'groom." Guys (Holmgren's) ego is a big as Texas so it would be a "challenge."

Oh...and just in case none of you already knew this, Seneca Wallace is a piece of shit. Real "team player" there...

"Do I feel like things always are fair? No. And that's just the way it is. . . . It
was Pat[Shurmur's] decision to give Colt an opportunity, and that's what it was."

A nine-year pro, Wallace reiterated what he told The Plain Dealer in June -- that
he wasn't going to share all his knowledge of the West Coast offense with McCoy
because he wanted to beat him for the job.

Asked during Thursday's interview how much mentoring he's done with McCoy this season,
Wallace said: "Not much. Not much. That was Jake [Delhomme's] deal. He did a lot of some stuff with him
last year. But that's not my thing. It's just one thing I don't do. I came in
with the mind-set I wanted to compete, whatever case that was."

Wallace said he'd answer any questions McCoy might have about the West Coast offense,
but he wouldn't offer unsolicited help.

Oh..and BTW, regarding the Browns "shitty offensive line".....Browns offensive line is middle of the pack (ranked 15th) in pass blocking while the Steelers are 21st and the Packers 23rd. GB's & Pitt's (much better teams) QB's also sacked more. Fifteenth isn't great but a far cry better than what many are proclaiming (pass protection stats are in blue to the right)...

McCoy had time to throw...

They did seem to get better toward the end of this season.

Because 2 backups competing for the starting QB spot isn't my idea of good times.

The line is coming together. If Steinbach comes back I think they can move Pinky to RG and draft a RT and they'll be fine. Actually having one of the better lines in the league.

If they are going to start over I'd prefer it be with one of the top 2 prospects (Luck or RG3). I don't get the warm fuzzies about Flynn and I don't want a stopgap retread (Orton, Campbell, etc like they tried with Delhomme).
