"When I think of RGIII I don't think of an NFL quarterback".
Again, like I said. List actual football reasons as to why you don't think he's good. So far no one has stepped up to the plate in that regard.
My reasons are that in 2010 he was an undraftable player. His game involved lot of screen passes and quick one read passes to the track stars at Baylor and let them do the work. He comes in this yr and is playing lights out. What happened to make that change? Was it the coaching, scheme, etc...? He reminds me of Colin Kapernick from last season. Long Term project who needs tweak to his throwing motion to be successful in the NFL. I'm always leary of players who go from being terrible to amazing in one season, MUCH like Akali Smith was back in '99. He started what 14 games? He doesn't have the track record of success. He's been in college since 2008, he stays another yr that would be a mistake. He doesn't play in a pro style offense, plays behind the shotgun (like many college QBs I'm aware) doesn't read a defense, he's basically a one read and go player. I think he could develop this to an NFL level eventually but I just don't want a long term project that relies on athleticism playing in a spread offense going against mediocre talent week in week out as my QB that I'm hitching my wagon to for the next 3 season hoping he can develop. Most QBs coming out don't develop, remember that.
Running QBs aren't successful long term in the NFL, thats just the way it is. You mention Cam Newton earlier, I must say I was surprised by his early success but that has only translated to 2 wins this season. His stats are also coming back to earth following his first half of the season. Don't expect that rate of fantasy stats to continue.
