Implying that it would be odd for Mangini to admit to anything?

The Jets' PSL's are for 7 years...not sure how long Cleveland's PSL go for, but i'm sure its around that (i mean, that is the whole point of a PSL-to lock them down for longer than 1 year)

No, I think Heckert had a lot of respect for Mangini's views on defense.

Peyton Hillis did not join the Browns for practice this morning....it's believed he signed a new contract from what I'm hearing.

Joshua Gunter | The Plain DealerPeyton Hillis was a surprise no-show at practice today.
BEREA -- Browns running back Peyton Hillis was absent from practice with an illness today, a league source told the Plain Dealer.
Hillis is expected to be fine for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Coach Pat Shurmur will address it after practice, around 1 p.m.
During Thursday's practice, Hillis appeared to slip during a drill and spiked the ball afterwards. He held his side for a minute, but then went back in and looked fine on the next drill. The slip is not believed to be related to his absence.
Montario Hardesty took all the first-team reps in practice today.
Hillis is coming off a two-touchdown, 94-yard rushing effort against the Colts and is gearing up for the 0-2 Dolphins on Sunday. He rushed for 57 yards against Miami last season.

Seahawks Demote First-Rounder Curry
23rd September, 2011 - 9:05 am
NFL.com - The Seahawks have demoted former first-round pick Aaron Curry to the second team.

Seattle drafted the linebacker with the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

"I don't even know how to put it into words," Curry said. "But it is what it is. ... Everything happens for a reason. There's a purpose behind everything, and I'll find it and learn from it and take off running."

The Seahawks restructured their deal with Curry prior to the season and can now cut ties with him at season's end with no further financial obligation.

I'd be looking to sign him if I were the Browns. Loved him coming out of college, perhaps a change of scenery would help him.

I was high on Curry coming out of college too. Looking like a bust though.

BarryMcBride Barry McBride I've gotten hints that there's a bit of low-level snickering around the NFL around the idea of giving Peyton Hillis a long-term contract.

I agree with the "snickering." Three years, max!

I firmly believe that Shurmur is the man for the job in Cleveland. He might not fit in anywhere else as a head coach, but in Cleveland he does. We haven't had a solid head coach since our return, and it appears that the players really enjoy playing for Shurmur. There's a huge difference in the W/L column when the players sincerely want to go out and do well for their head coach, and not giving a damn what the head coach says.

The one thing I love about this team, is their attitude. They believe they'll be competitive, and believe that they'll be competitive enough to compete for championships. In year's past, it wasn't uncommon to hear a player say "Well, we've got a lot of work to do, but we hope to get there".

I'm working on putting my interview with T.J. Ward together, but one of the questions I asked him, was what he'd like to say to Cleveland fans. His response..
"Expect greatness. I can promise you that this team is working extremely hard to turn things around for the franchise and Browns fans everywhere. We work hard in practice, in the film room, during the off-season and on the field. We want to produce a team that Cleveland can really be proud of. I know they've heard it before, but we really want to bring a Championship to Cleveland. We want it more than anything."

He's not saying it'll be this year, or next year, but it's the belief that they're going to be competitive enough to win in the NFL that has got to have fans excited.

Just came to post this, sad to hear.

For those who forget, this is the guy who got hit in the eye with a flag because Jeff Triplette is a fucking retard (and bad ref), and then he pushed him over.

This was the part that jumped out at me...

(His first game at Cleveland Stadium his rookie season) - “Well I got a taste of the NFL in week one, so that helped me adjust to the game before my first home game as a Cleveland Brown. We suffered a tough loss to Kansas City in week two, but the experience was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my life. The fans were loud and proud, it was amazing. It was great to see how excited the city of Cleveland gets, but Ben Roethlisberger? He raped a woman, several. Maybe a man too. Oh, and Lebron James is a bitch.”

Absolutely my favorite part too! My jaw dropped when he said that. He told me, off the record of course, that he'd love for James to convert to the NFL. He said it was the only way fans would love him again in Cleveland. And by love, he meant they would love the abuse he'd take from Ward each and every practice. :)

Browns PSL's last as long as you buy the season tickets. If you have the PSL, you either have to buy the season tickets, or you give the PSL back to the Browns for them to resell. This is the way every season ticket works in CBS, except for the Dawg Pound. There are no PSL's for these seats, but you have the right to buy the same seats you had the previous year or try to upgrade.

Wasn't aware I was supposed to ask him that. Next time, I will. I have an interview with him later on in the year. Who knows, maybe your questions will be answered by then?
