If your implying that OSU isn't an "Elite" program than your just dead wrong.

Conference.

The Big Ten is the second best conference, just as I said it was all season long. The only debate for who is better is the Big XII and Pac-10, and they haven't been any better than the Big Ten this bowl season. They aren't as good as the SEC. No one is. No other conference can get away with paying their players, and many also have to admit students that meet academic requirements. Of course the SEC will have the advantage.

2)so I guess really there is nothing to stop the narrative at this point about the general weakness of the conference.

1) a non-AQ team who happens to be undefeated with a couple of nice victories under their belt

2) TCU would not be able to run through the gauntlet that is Northwestern, Indiana, Purdue, and Michigan!!!! :)

Cats,

I'm curious as to how you would rank the conferences in order of how they're finishing...

The Big Ten looks bad, but lets face it, the Big XII isn't exactly lighting it up this year either

Would I prefer that Big Ten teams win, sure, I enjoy seeing teams like Wisconsin and PSU do well. Does this frustrate me in any way? Nope. As long as the Buckeyes win I am happy.

Because it was being discussed in like 8 different threads about how bad the big 10 is doing, and most fans come bowl season want to see the conference do well

In what year is LSU going to be back? Each year we hear about all of the returning talent and the coaching prowess of Les. Will it be next year?

I think the SEC is the best league, hands down. I couldn't even tell you who is the next best. The rest of them all seem about the same.

I believe that they do but can you explain to me why they want conference teams to do well?

Not an LSU fan, but they have won 2 BCS National Titles since 2003. What is your definition of being "back"?

Playing home games in New Orleans.

I'd like to see what happens if they're playing in Miami, Glendale, Pasadena, etc

Actually its twice since 2000. Wisky in 2000 and Ohio State last year. But then again you obviously started at 2000 because you knew the Big 10 won 4 in a row starting in 1997

They are your opponents and true loyalty to your own school creates a disdain in athletic competition towards anyone you play. That's one reason. Can you tell me why you want those teams to do well?

I never thought of that. The Wisky coaches should have done that. But do you really think it would have worked?

Serious answer: When BCS bowl games stop being played in the SEC's back yard; when the sports media, the BCS, and the NCAA stop sucking SEC dick; when the other BCS conferences lower their academic standards to SEC levels, when the other BCS conferences start getting away with paying their players like the SEC, etc., etc.

Who cares V-ball? LSU is irrelevant the only teams that matter year in and year out are the ones playing in BCS games, hence why they have the biggest payouts and the biggest ratings.

Yeah no doubt the Big 10 sucked on the tailpaipe yesterday, but really the BCS Bowls are the only real bowls anymore and if OSU can pull off a victory the B10 goes 1 - 1 in anything that matters.

Please don't forget that the Big 10's best team didn't represent the Big 10 in 2002 (Oklahoma beat Washington St. while OSU was winning the national title over Miami), in 2006 and 2007 Ohio State was playing in the national title game as well. So out of those 10 years you listed, 3 of them had a team other than the conference #1 and one of those years was no Big Ten rep. Kepp trolling though CGW.
