Don't you often link to articles relating to the OSU violations/Tressel scandal? It was on the front page of rivals.com. I thought it was an interesting that all 5 "experts" on their panel agreed on the issue. Don't shoot the messenger.

I actually think he is right. Darryl Stonum at Michigan just picked up his 2nd DUI, and is suspended indefinately. It's questionable that he'll ever see the field again at Michigan.

If he had his 3rd, there'd be no doubt.

I know what you are saying, although it wasn't Floyd's 3rd DUI. His two prior incidents were for underage consumption/possession, and neither of them were while he was on campus or school was in session. I was surprised when ResLife didn't suspend him, as I'm pretty sure I posted on here he was done immediately after the DUI in March. Bottom line is he still hasn't been reinstated and there are zero guarantees that he plays at all this fall. He has certain things he needs to do before Kelly will reinstate him. A couple hundred hours of work in the community, maintain a certain GPA (which he did for the Spring, still has to do in the Summer), fulfill any requirements the courts give him when he faces that within the next couple weeks, and other things that haven't been released publicly. He had to completely change his life, in a short amount of time, and maintain that. He has already been suspended from all football related activities for 2 months and had his captaincy stripped, which is about 10 times the punishment any OSU player has received recently for similar offenses, which is why I replied to dat dude like I did.

Could you link to me a comparison for an OSU player who committed "similar offenses?" I would like to compare punishments. To my knowledge, there has not been an OSU player who has had 3 different alcohol incidents (including an OVI) within a two year period. It may have happened, but I don't recall.

You're really going to bitch about underages? GTFO. I've seen cops around Ohio State's campus mysteriously appear in larger numbers around underage football players in bars, not to give them underages but to stop people from taking pictures of it. When one university systematically caters to football players' partying and one is closer to BYU, you don't have much of a case. College kids drink, the underages are moot. "Third alcohol offense" is such a freakin' cop out because few people consider underage possession to be an actual offense. If he gets another OVI or gets caught with marijuana, you'd have a point.

Keep in mind this happened in the dead period between the bowl game and spring football. He is fortunate that he has the entire off season to turn his life around. If this happened in August, things would be much different.

I thought it was his 3rd DUI. So I agree mostly with you. I still don't think a 3rd alcohol related offense is anything to take lightly though.

Looks like Jordan Prestwood will be transferring out of Florida State already after signing in February, and is likely going to end up in South Bend.

Of what though? He probably went through some of the same stuff that Lynch and Tuitt went through as far as pressure from friends and family to stay close to home. Maybe Prestwood just gave in to that and Lynch was in his ear about the time he has spent in South Bend? Lynch's mom was one of the first to report Prestwood transferring.

Yeah he will have to sit this year. Will help OL depth when 3 starters have their eligibility expire after 2011.

Sucks that it got leaked a day early. Kelly was waiting on his SAT scores to come in and when they did, he got his offer. Perkins announced within a day of getting the scores that he was ready to announce his decision. Will be interesting to see which position he comes in as, I'd like to see him as a power RB.

I can't see him being anything but an RB. I have read that his HS coach said his coverage skills are a liability.
