That's ridiculous, just paying the deductible doesn't make you whole. Getting it repaired will hit the carfax report and diminish the value of the vehicle. I'd be pissed to high heaven.

Not sure what state you currently live in, but Ohio has specific law for diminish value that is not a automatic add on to a settlement.
Of course I have referenced Sovereign Immunity twice now.

Soverign immunity pertains only to the federal government and the states, not to counties or municipalities (Northern Insurance Company of New York v. Chatham County).

Thanks. I assume that is a State of New York ruling and not federal? In Ohio we have ORC 4511.01 & 4503.49.

This is crazy. I can't believe anyone would defend these clowns (happened on the news last night). Blizzard or not you don't just crush a car.

You do realize that Jim Bob driving a snow plow or Johnny driving the zoning car is not included in that right?

also, 4503.49 only deals with how emergency vehicles are licensed.

Cities are not Sovereign to begin with

Yeah, that video is HILARIOUS! I mean, you hit it once, oops let's not do anymore damage. But NOOOOOO, it's almost like the tried to destroy the thing. When they finally knock off the back end of that truck it's like "well, might as well get your money's worth". Not to mention they probably did some damage to the car in front, too.

I'll add that I don't think these guys were stupid they just didn't care. Clearly a few members of the 5% that unions protect that are otherwise unemployable.

Why didn't the guy filming have pants on? Those 2 seconds of the video are what stood out the most to me.

At least edit it out....Probably afraid of being scooped and someone posting it before he did.

Well at least the person will get a new car if they speak with an attorney who's intelligent enough to breath.
