I think it would depend on the time table that they do it in. Example, If you and I both opened an Excel file or something and I made my changes and then saved and you did the same but after me. I believe the next time you checked that file it would be with your changes not mine.

Thanks. That's better than just overwriting. I wish it would just let the 2nd person open as read only.

Don't worry, you're not a whore.

Back on subject, talked with a friend today who says they too use Dropbox to transfer large graphics files without having to zip it or reduce resolution. We started talking how we could start an entire business utilizing Dropbox as our method of product delivery. Prolly be how I make my next million. :)

Did it ruin it for you after realizing she was dating Macauley Culkin for 8 years?

A few questions, if you can:
1) max file size? Seems like 300mb but up to 2gigs (or mailbox size?) if I upload from my desktop?

2) if I sign-up with a .edu email, I'll get 500megs per referral and can get up to a max of 16gigs?

3) is it easy to share files with people from this? If I want to share some files with one group from work, can I later boot them off easily (change a password) and do this for another group?

wish I would have known that beforehand. Anyways, I find this Dropbox thing useful. It's great for putting pirated apps on your phone.

www.dropbox.com/edu

You can still link an .edu account. You don't have to actually sign up with it. I was able to use my wife's after the fact.

I'm thinking about it....I could use it. 2 gigs doesn't do me much good, but if I can get it up to 8 or 16....But, man, 16 would requier 28(or is it 32?) referrals. $10 a month for 50gigs isn't bad, but still pretty steep vs a memory stick.

We got a year of amazon prime for free for a year because my wife happened to be taking one class at the time they were offering it for free to any student. Free shit is great, especially if it's something that I would pay for anyway.

So, how long was this offer for Amazon Prime, and exactly how much did it cost?:D

Okay I'll DL this when I get home. Always looking to add some extra memory.

Are referrals related to downloads or people signing up? If it's just the signing up I have close to a dozen email accounts I could use to try and fool it.

Downloads linked to an account, i.e. you can't really fool the system. You can install it on a bunch of virtual machines but that's too much effort for me.

Just do it over time. When you have your laptop at starbucks, sign-up one of your emails. At a friends, house, sign-up another of your emails. Surprise they don't police that a little, but probably not worth their time or effort.
