Let's pretend the Browns beat the Ravens.....I believe that would seal the #2 seed as KC has 5 conference losses to Pittsburgh's 3
If that is the case.....do you rest any players versus the Browns in a meaningless game?
Personally, I'd sit Polamalu, let Ben play for a half and sit anyone with an injury that NEEDS to heal. I'd be cautious with Mendenhall playing more than a half.

First of all the Raven's win this week.
But in your hypothetical scenario Tomlin is not a "rester" keep people in game shape by keeping them on the field in game situations. Rest Troy for sure, get Smith some reps.
You cannot expect professional athletes to play half speed. Either way, Steelers by 14+.

He may not be a 'rester' but Polamalu doesn't play against the Browns if the division is locked up. He may not play even if it isn't locked up. If it is locked up the starters may play a half.

I wouldn't play Troy but they have 10 days off before the Browns game and if they have the bye/division clinched prior to that game that tacks on another 14 days off before they host a playoff game. 3 and a half weeks is too long to sit healthy players. The bye should be a sufficient break for them.
Take too much time off and we're getting into a losing rhythm/getting rusty scenario.

Definitely Troy will not play. He might not anyway, even if they must win.
I think they should sit Roethlisberger, too, but he'll probably want to play so he'll end up playing a little bit.

I hate it from a fans perspective when we sit players .... It never helps anyway ... You see it all the time like Cinci last year ...In reality ..Troy will probably sit ,and maybe a few other banged up guys ... I kinda hope the game means something ..i hate the Browns and I want to beat them ..If we go in half cocked we are going to get our asses kicked again like last year and that aint a good feeling...I think the clowns might beat us anyway ..Browns know how to win bigger games ,,...they just cant beat bums .....they should be around 8-8 this year ...
