What I really like is the fact that OSU is learning to play inside out. They are understanding that getting the ball to Sully opens up the entire floor for everyone else or if they don't double, Sully will put up 30. Lighty lit it up, and I'm not sure there was a defender within' 5 feet of him on any of his 3 balls. Sully ended up with only 5 assts, but his passing out of the post led to alot of open shots on the next pass.

I have no problem with the schedule. It's provided the Buckeyes with a couple of tough games and a few blowout.. Both of which help develop players/bench.

The Big Ten schedule will test OSU early and often.

Who doesnt: Izzo, Calipari,Self.... I guess if you are confident in your program, you schedule challenging games.

OSU's strength of schedule is rated at 205. I think that is pathetic for a top tier program.

You forgot some matchups.

Kentucky- AT North Carolina, Washington, UConn , and Notre Dame(SOS-12)

Kansas-Arizona, Memphis, UCLA, Cal, and Michigan.(SOS-63) Not great , but better than 205.

Michigan State-UConn, Washington, Syracuse, Texas(not counting Duke because that was part of the challenge) (SOS-30)

Are you going to cherry pick Texas' schedule too?

I dont like playing all these boring games either. But OSU has played some of their best games when they've played better teams. Im not at all worried that playing this schedule will hurt them.

While debating schedules, I think it's important to remember the conferences these teams play in too.
Kentucky has some good OOC games, but in-conference, you've got Florida and Tennessee as the other ranked teams, and we all know the struggles the Vols are having.
Kansas is in a pretty good conference, so they don't really need a great OOC schedule. Games against Memphis and Arizona are good, but other than that it's nothing stellar.
Michigan State's is the most impressive, but Izzo and Sparty always seem to have a pretty tough schedule.

The conference a team plays in plays a big part in who the schedule OOC, whether they be quality teams or not.

NO! You LIED about their schedules, by infering they only play Top 25 teams. Everyone knows about those games you listed. YOU were the one leaving out the games that prove you LIE. OBVIOUSLY the vast majority of their schedules are agaisnt NOBODIES.

My post was made to point out what YOU ignorantly failed to mention. It's quite obvious that the VAST majority of their non-league schedules are against nobodies. Look at their ENTIRE schedules and stop LYING. You FAIL 1st grade math.

First of all, this is one year. Matta hasn't always done this. Secondly, it wasn't OSU who chose to play Fla St in the ACC challenge. They were told thats who they were playing. Florida was a preseason top 10 team. Its not OSU fault they haven't lived up to those. If Fla was as good as some thought and OSU was given Duke in the challenge, that SOS would be significantly higher. MSU has basically already cost themselves a #1 seed already before conference play has even started. So how has that worked out for them? On top of that, I wonder how these will END up at seasons end, which is when they really count.

As for MSU, Izzo has always scheduled this way and it has prepared his team to play and advance in the tournament.History tells that story.

You got me there , big guy. While other teams have started their REAL seasons, OSU is playing a second class schedule. Next up-Tennessee-Martin. This should be another stern test. The Skyhawks are 4-8, but they have a victory over William Woods, a well known power, Go Bucks!!
