Anyone else surprised that Capone has more posts on the Cleveland thread for yet another week?

Bengals 20
Browns 13

The hoopla about the Browns has pretty much faded. They suck again.

Although I disagree, the Browns could potentially end the season with the same record as last year. They better beat the Bengals to be one game better than last year and then I would be surprised if they beat Baltimore or Pitt, two teams competing for seeding in the playoffs.

Everyone seems to be somewhat happy with Mangini this year, but if they finish the season 0-4 he has to go, and maybe even if they finish 1-3.

Not surprised the "butt brothers" are posting at the same time. All you need is rock and you guys can complete your circle jerk.

There are too many other needs to draft a QB early, but it seems like Holmgren likes to take a QB in the later rounds that is a project. I'd be OK with them taking a QB in the late rounds if they think he could develop.

There is no other position in the NFL that is of a bigger need than a QB. Again, I don't know if McCoy is the guy or not, but if he's not, they need to get a QB early in the draft.

I agree there is no bigger position of need in the NFL...if you have a talented core around them. The Browns aren't going to get Luck, so I think the best option is get the talent needed in other positions and give McCoy a year to prove himself.

I think that is the direction the Browns are headed in.

Will Holmgren and Mangini be back next season? Or does it depend on the last 3 games?

Plain Dealer seems to think Mangini needs to win 2 of 3 to keep his job, for whatever that's worth.

I don't see them taking a QB till maybe after the 4th round...They just have too many needs to draft a QB who may not even start next year...They definitely need to draft a top WR in round 1 to get some help on offense. In the 2-4 round I see them drafting a DL or LB or both, an OL on the right side of the line and some more help in the secondary...TJ Ward and Joe Haden look to be starters for a while, but need another CB because of an aging Sheldon Brown and who knows about Eric Wright...so unless the have a legit shot at Luck in the 1st I would say don't bother looking at a QB till later.

He'll be gone if that's the case, especially w/ Pitt and Baltimore fighting for seeding.

If McCoy finishes the season and plays as well as he did before his injury, there is no need to even think about drafting a QB. He has shown incridible accuracy, poise beyond his years, leadership, intelligence, and that thing called "it". He seems to have "it" and he is a winner. Draft some weapons and sign a couple FAs (how about Sydey Rice) and this team will be ready to go to the next level.

BTW...Colt took a good amount of 1st team reps today.

If the Plain Dealer is right, then Holmgren and the Browns front office are idiots (again).

The last thing this organization needs is yet another coaching change, and starting over.

The only way Mangini should be fired is if this team suddenly quits on him and just mails it in.

Having said all that, the Plain Dealer was one of the driving forces that wanted to can Belichick -- and a lot of it was based on the same reason they dislike Mangini...he isn't media friendly, and runs a locked down operation.

You pretty much nailed it.

To start over now would be ludicrous and negate anything they've accomplished this year. They have shown too much improvement to do so.

you truely are an idiot. do you really think holmgren is gonna be fired?

i wish i knew where you guys were gettting this lets draft a qb in the first round bullshit. but when colt mccoy was leading the offense, we actually looked like an NFL offense, not a high school offense. colt mccoy has "it", just watch him play. he has all the qualities you look for in a starter in the NFL. we need a legit number 1 reciever, a pass rusher, right side of the oline, another defensive back and defensive line. when colt is healthy that is the last thing we have to worry about. give him a full year with more talent. you will see and start to believe he is "our" guy

They've shown improvement? 5-8 isn't improvement. Well I guess it is in Cleveland.

You'd have to be blind to not see the difference between the this years team and last years team at this point. Tremendous improvement. Course I guess I have to remember who said it.

So if they go 5-11 again, you're saying that is improvement?
