Live TV is the biggest killer out there. Why travel, at all, if you can watch on TV in the comfort of your living room, drink beer (if you're so inclined), get to watch replays, pause/rewind (for those with DVRs)... or, waste gas, put miles on your car, be very cold, pay for parking, pay for a ticket, get what limited replays with the jumbotrons, sit out in the cold air, deal with traffic. Deal with other fans that may annoy you...

Yeah, staying home would win out for most people. I prefer seeing games live. But, I don't rag on anybody who opts to stay home. Eliminate live or even same-day-replay TV and attendance will spike back up.

The year was 1982 and it was 31,409, but there were 2 games St.Vincent-St.Mary played Ironton in the 1st game, then Moeller beat massillon in the 2nd game, so the 4 teams combined drew 31,000 , and it was a very empty looking stadium with that many people.

Massillon was last in the final game in 05 but before that it was a long time ..Those illegal catholic schools for the most part dont have squat for a fan base ... Those punblic school areas that they keep pilfering from dont go out and support those illegal teams...If we start getting alot of public school finals you will see whole communities showing up for the games ...

Wasn't the ALL PUBLIC Div II final this year the lowest attended game?

Just can't help bashing the catholic schools. Of course we will pray for you.

We had 18K in attendance at Centerville for the matchup between Alter and Centerville in the regular season. I for one am glad to see it move closer to the south. You will see a lot more of the families from the South in attendance.
Also, I subscribe on TV but still go to see it live.

Re- concession prices. Are the higher prices due to the fact that the college/pro stadiums in other states used paid help instead of the typical volunteers used at high school games? How is that currently handed in Canton/Mass?

CFF, mostly because they're trying to make money off the food to help support the athletic programs. Unfortunately, they generally don't change the prices from one event to another held there. Higher the level, higher the price.

The hired help vs. volunteers doesn't really affect much the increase in price.

Probably will be a couple bucks higher then Can / Mass games just because most of the folks in the Cols / Day / Cin areas still have jobs and can afford it. But I'm sure the OHSAA willl issue some type of voucher for all the unemployed NE OH fans.
