Ha ha ha ha what a lame choice. Bet Speed and Ty are crappin their pants on this supreme bone head hire. Very minor league hire even worse than ND did las year.

Why is this a lame hire? Yeah they didn't get Stoops or Petrino, but there is a reason that he has been the coach in waiting at a program like Texas.

Why because I speak the truth? Or because I know more about CFB than you do with virtually every post?

Solid pickup. Interesting though as it appears he could not wait anymore at UT.

Now that sleeper is gone, you, ccrunner, and Gibby are fighting for the worst CFB poster on this board.

I don't believe so. Definitely not on the collegiate level.

Don;t think so. But, he is the highest paid assistant in the country and Texas has really tried to keep him the last couple years. I remember he was always one of the first names brought up to any major coaching vacancy. Guess, Florida was too much to pass up. I wonder if Mack Brown gave the ok or knew about it?

Hell, the way Mack was talking about blowing up his coaching staff this off season he probably called Florida to let them know Muschamp would be available.

Hahaha. Yeah, a great example of the failure of the Texas defense was the UCLA game. Ouch.

Obviously the Texas faithful held Muschamp in very high regards.

Honestly, any decent coach should be able to win at Florida with all the talent there is within 100 miles of campus. It took someone like Zook to fuck it up.

Muschamp's name was barely mentioned, until 7pm . On Gator boards or any other. There are still plenty more dominoes to fall at other schools.

Given Muschamp's high position at Texas, recruiting and coaching, how culpable is he for the meltdown the Longhorns had this season?

Seems to me you can't be an assistant coach (in waiting) and the key guy bringing in recruits and be held blameless when your team is projected to be in the top 10 and then doesn't even qualify for a bowl game. Just saying...

http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20101211/ARTICLES/101219908/1136?Title=GATORS-HIRE-MUSCHAMP-AS-NEW-HEAD-COACH

The Texas defensive coordinator, who played football at Oak High School and lived in Gainesville for 10 years, has been named the new head coach at the University of Florida. At 39, he is the second-youngest coach in the SEC behind Mississippi State's Dan Mullen.
"This is a dream come true to be the head coach of the Florida Gators," Muschamp said in a UF release Saturday night. "I grew up watching the Gators and whatever other SEC team was on television.
"I have great memories watching SEC football with my father on Saturdays and playing football in the backyard with my two brothers right here in Gainesville."

They will be fast, aggressive on defense and play with an attitude like you wouldn't believe... physical physical physical.

I think this is a good hire

Wow. I guess big name assistants have to eventually get their shot, I was just hoping it didn't have to be this hire. I'm a bit underwhelmed at the moment, but wouldn't have figured Meyer would've worked so well when he was hired.
