I "drink and then drive" almost weekly. Doesn't mean I am legally drunk.

Once for like a block (I was drunk enough to be stupid and drive rather than walk). I had though, on several occasions in the past, ridden with people who are drunk which to me is just as bad.
I’ve not done anything like that in many, many years though do to a family tragedy involving people dying because of an impaired, though not legally drunk, driver.

Guilty. I was nothing but lucky not to have been caught or to have hurt someone. Decades ago and never, ever again.

I think almost every single person who has a drink at one point in their life is guilty of this.

Too many times. Especially when I was younger. Am I proud of it? No, I'm embarrassed and ashamed. And I will never do it again.

I have and I got caught, learned my lesson and can now say I am much, much, much more responsible.

I thank God I have been taught to know that that is probably the #1 think NOT to do. The ramifications of drinking and driving are severe and felt for a long long time (financially, professionally, personally, and God forbid to an innocent person(s)). There are just too many HUGE consequences to take the chance. There are so many other alternatives to choose from to be responsible.

P.S. Thank you to those that have loved and cared about me soo much to teach me this important lifelong lesson.

This. When I think back, it's pretty miraculous that no one (including me) was ever hurt. Like QCB, it's been decades since I've been that stupid, but I was definitely guilty as charged back in the day.

This. I've actually been thankful I got my DUI because it really brought my life in to perspective and helped change a lot of stuff about myself.

I am guilty too. Never caught and don't do it anymore, but in HS & college did it a lot. Back in 92 I was living in Dayton and dating a girl in Toledo. There were numerous nights I would go out to a bar with my friends in Dayton, close the bar, and wake up Sunday morning in Toledo not remembering driving there. Lucky something bad didn't happen. I just hope my kids are a little smarter than me.

I have driven before where I was likely legally drunk, as in that if I was pulled over I would have blown above .08, but I was able to drive just about as good as if I was sober. I was probably a better driver then because I was taking all the necessary precautions due to my extreme paranoia. I rarely drink anymore so I don't see me doing it ever again though.

In my younger days I always had nice cars so in the winter I would buy an old truck to get me through winter. One night I was out drinking whiskey and the next day I woke up wih a blood covered face and a knot on my head. There was a blood trail from my bed to the front door. Imagine the shock when I looked at my truck and the whole front end was smashed. To this day I dont have no idea what I hit. I never had a drop of whiskey since(20+yrs ago) and today I only drink beer within the safety of my own home.

I am a cold case detective here in in the Midwest, and I was hoping you could furnish me with the date, approximate time and location of where this "accident" took place--it'd be very helpful in an unsolved hit-and-run case we've been working on--thank you for your cooperation :p

I did many times in my younger days, and I got caught and got a DUI when I was 26, and it cost me a fortune plus my license was suspended. On that day, when I saw the way my dad looked at me, I promised myself -- and my parents -- that I would never have a drop of alcohol and get behind the wheel again, and I have kept that promise. Then again, I live in New York, so I have cabs lug my drunk ass everywhere haha

All kidding aside, I was stupid then, and I am lucky nothing bad happened. Will never happen again, period.

I did too many times when I was younger. God looks out for drunks and fools is all I can say.

Nowadays I preach against it.

Used to drive drunk all the time. I was always taking back roads, so I justified it by saying I probably wouldn't so much as even pass anyone on the way home.
