There probably is a fracture they are probably just saying there isn't. NFL teams always try to mess with people when releasing injury reports.

just a few thoughts about the actual game and the matchups

- The Steelers will certainly try to run the ball and be balanced. Especially with Ben's foot banged up they can't expect him to try and scramble around and shed pass rushers nonstop for four quarters. Mendenhall has had a very good season and the Steelers are coming off a strong rushing performance, although Buffalo is ranked 32nd in the league. Ultimately I don't think the Steelers will be able to run. The Steelers offensive line will lose the battle against the Ravens defensive line and they'll be forced to pass in order to move the ball and pick up first downs.

- Against the Raiders the Steelers showed a glimpse of having a deep receiving group that could be difficult to match up against. That was the first game Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders played in the four and five wide receiver sets together. They're rookies so they don't have a firm grasp of what they're doing but they're just speedy guys and when you have those two, along with Mike Wallace, it spreads the defense out. If Ben buys a little time he will probably have somebody breaking free or he'll be able to run himself because there are so many defensive backs in coverage.

- Flacco took a step forward in the last meeting in Pittsburgh. The big thing was he had a lot of time to throw and he was able to go through his progressions. The Steelers have picked up the pass rush a little bit the past two weeks and they must get pressure on Flacco this time and force some turnovers.

- The Ravens are one team that can potentially run the ball on the Steelers. At least enough to have a balanced attack. The Steelers have managed without Brett Keisel and Aaron Smith for several weeks but I think they at least need Keisel to play or the Ravens could run the ball some against the two backup defensive ends.

I know. If only our players and fans whined about something worthwhile like someone saying they are going to "continue their greatness."

That's much more "whine-worthy."

I'm out until Sunday so if you need to banter with a Raven's fan you will have to rely on Heelz.

Indeed. Now excuse me. I'm going to burn a Tom Brady jersey because of his preferential treatment.

Hearing smoke that Ben's foot is broken, there any fire behind this?

Gerry Dulac wrote an explanation on PG Plus.

He said Roethlisberger has a broken bone in his foot, the fifth metatarsal bone or the outside metatarsal.

It was broken a long time ago, seven or eight years ago. The fracture was not determined until about a month ago against New England when he stepped on an awkward spot in the field and just sprained his foot.

Against Buffalo, he went back to plant his foot and felt the pain again and apparently it was re-fractured.

He's wearing a shoe in practice that's protected by metal plates but he won't be allowed to wear that during the game.

Gerry Dulac thinks this might prevent Roethlisberger from dropping back a lot and they may have to go with a lot of shotgun.

I have a good feeling about tonight. I think the Steelers have come together this week using the "us against the world" theme in regards to recent events off the field.

Hopefully they use the no-huddle with lots of short passes and slants. Seems to work against defenses like Baltimores. I'll stick with my previous prediction:
Steelers-13
Ravens-10

Ben's actually lucky he's not suspended or perhaps in jail. How he got away with pissing in front of a lady (indecent exposure) sunbathing on her deck at The Country Culb of Muirfield this summer still amazes me.

Didn't hear about it? Was all over the news in Columbus. Shows up with his buddies to play Muirfield Village. Thought he could just show up and play for free. I'll just say he was denied. Anyway, Larry sends them over to play The Country Club of Muirfield. While there he decides to take a piss right off the side of a fairway. A lady is sunbathing on her deck, witnesses it and calls the police. Dublin police come, question the group and another person takes the blame yet the lady identified "guilty" Ben. What a douche.

It would Be Nice if the game would end in a tie. Absolutely hate the Steelers and Ray Lewis is a joke. How he pulled an OJ and got away with it? Nice justice system.

So 5-2 is "weak" since his return? lol....Cleveland logic.

He is also on my fantasy squad...I've been on fire since his return, except for his no TD game last week.

Yeah, I think we all heard about it. It's just that we don't give a shit about it. I'm worried about tonight's game and how he's going to play, not about a piss he took on a golf course in the Summer.

I have a feeling that the time that scores the most points will win this game.

ewok...you don't give a shit? That's not a surprise. Many of you little Ben worshippers would drink a beer out of his cup or even wipe his ass if he asked you to.

Not a Ben worshipper. Just not concerned with a leak he took on a golf course months ago. Big game tonight. Division lead at stake, big rivalry.

Pissing on a golf course!? Oh no he didn't!

I'm guilty of that myself, along with sparking a J at the turn numerous times. Lock me up! lol Also I think it will be pretty hard to find any "Ben worshippers" these days.

As for the game, I'm kinda nervous. If Ben is a statue I think we are going down.
