I only dislike the Red Riders a couple of weeks a year, other than that, I wish them the best of luck. I think the football (especially) experience in the 44667 is unique and I am proud that it occurs within the county in which I live.
I think most Riders fans who know me face to face know I typically come on their threads just to ruffle some feathers to keep the rivalries more interesting.

Us Generals are trying to fly under the radar this season and sneak up on some unsuspecting teams. Prolly go, oh you know, 7-3 because our coach can't win the big one. But more importantly our band this season is looking kick a**. Got some new routines, some new songs, they are ready to rock.

People go to the game just to watch the band. Could it get any more sad? And actually the Generals had a good season last year minus a couple of games. But does that fille the seats? Heck no. FML.riders1;808213 wrote:Have to admit your band is goo...., grea..., outstan..., well I guess okay!

All that, and he was an excellent football player as well...and he can't get voted into the Orrville High School "Sports Hall of Fame"...now that's pathetic!RedRider1;803060 wrote:Great point. Consider our all-time scoring leader Marcell Denson. He went to the regional finals his freshman year, the district finals his sophomore year and won state his junior & senior years.
He played the equivalent of a 5th season worth of games just in tournament games.
At the most...we're talking 8 more games played over a 4 year career with this new rule change.....hardly worth "asteriking" in the record books. If we're doing that, then might as well asterik Marcell's career points since he had 20+ tournament games over his career. The points you score as a Red Rider as the points you score.....keep it simple.

I remember my Dad when I was playing, left at half time to go down stairs and some woman said aren't you going to stay and watch the band and my Dad said " If I had my way the reserves would play at half time".

what a job Coach D ans staff have done with these kids. If you are a parent of a young man in the Orrville football program let me tell you this....the tools are in place for your son to be the best possible football player and person he chooses to be. The work is up to him, but the guidance and discipline is in place. week four looks like another "scout" night with by current count 6 Div I players on the field when Lex comes to town. Wow. Get busy Riders. Hunt now....eat later!

Series..I was fortunate enough to play 3 years of basketball and 2 years of football with Marcell and I couldn't agree more that Marcell put up the stats and won championships that many other "current" members can't even sniff. He had a great high school athletic career. However, I think the system in place is fair.
Are there people already in the HOF that raise the question "How did they get in before Marcell"? .....ABSOLUTELY!!!

I would love to see a Massillon/Orrville match up in the Reg. season.
@Massillon of course.
Maybe play the game, the night we have Open House for area students.

Fair...to what degree when an athlete with his credentials hasn't been voted into the OHSSHoF.Old Rider;810823 wrote:...However, I think the system in place is fair...

And after that, if you or anyone on this blog/forum knows, explain what is the reason why he isn't in the HoF.
