My son is watching Tom and Jerry, and it got me thinking:

What are some of your favorite "Old School" cartoons?

I always liked Taz, Bugs Bunny, and Tom and Jerry.

Tom and Jerry
Looney Tunes

Not a favorite, but Flintstones and Jetsons were both pretty good.

Tom and Jerry was awesome, but not when Hanna-Barbera took over...it sucked after that. Those directed by Fred Quimbley were the shit.

The adult humor behind the Looney Tunes was unparalleled. You just can't get away with the stuff they did in those back in the day.

"Here I come to save the day". That means that Mighty Mouse is on his way.

My favorite when I was very young.

If you are old enough to remember the cold war, go back and watch Rocky and Bullwinkle as an adult. It is amazing how much really funny adult humor was included that I never picked up as a child.

Just another example illustrating your assertion...

I am only 23, but these cartoons mentioned in this thread are pretty much the cartoons I watched growing up. Cartoons now a days just don't seem the same. It's just a bunch of Asian hoopa loopa. When i see these old school cartoons I still laugh, mainly because of the adult humor that I never picked up on when I was younger. Some of the cartoons I wonder how the hell they even got it on tv as a "children's show." Remember Ren and Stimpy? How the hell was that a cartoon for kids?

-Tom and Jerry was the shit
-Huge Snoopy fan
-Taz of course
-Looney toons
- Pink Panther (can't believe no one has mentioned this cartoon)
-Top Cat

The Banana Splits

I had such fond memories of the Banana Splits Show from when it was originally aired..

A couple of years ago, I happened upon a couple of episodes on cable. Now I wonder if my Mom was putting crack in my Kool-Aid.
