I think there were alot of excellent and on-the-mark points made in that video. And it all boils down to the same thing, the honeymoon is over. Now it is the time to start viewing things in a realistic manner, instead of the whole "I got a crush on Obama" schoolgirl mentality that the media has had for the past year. Which, BTW, I think even the most staunch Obama supporters can readily say that Obama has been the media BFF.

I liked the fact that one of those reporters made it very clear that he/WE should be expecting more out of the people we vote into office than what we expect out of folks like Glenn Beck.

Well, since the media all but abdicated their role as watchdog when they hitched their collective wagons to the Obama star...yes, this is a bit of a sea change.

Will it lead to anything resembling actual hold-his-feet-to-the-fire journalism like we saw with the Bush administration and every other Republican office holder?

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the answer is yes.

SHAME on those media folks who went to this state dinner like they were Hollywood celebs. Shame, shame, shame on them.

They have no business going as "guests" to this type of affair and still call themselves journalists.

If they were there working to cover it (and obviously the ones we saw were not), that's one thing; but it's a ridiculous conflict of interest to accept a dinner invite from the President when you spend your working hours covering him as a supposed objective journalist.

Belly....we haven't had a "public servant" in the White House for about a century. Please reconsider your nomenclature to reflect today's reality.

As with presidents 30 through 45...they can more accurately be depicted as de facto "mega corporate" servant.

Obama will leave office and graded out as one of the worst presidents ever. I said that before he was elected. If McCain had been elected, he also would have graded out as one of the worst presidents ever.

The unemployment rate in the US is 3 to 4 times higher here than it is in countries that are primarliy state run such as Cambodia, Vietnam, and China.

If LJ would like a source, I'll be happy to look it up and provide one.

I believe that the recovery of our economy must begin with a revived interest in creating a global competitive market here. As long as foreign countries are complicit in artificially deflating a "natural" earning wage for these workers, our country will continue it's path towards "banana Republic" status.

It is a sad cycle though. Speaks poorly of how educated Americans actually are.

I could care less if the republican party dissolves. I could care less at this point of my disappointment in the democratic party, if it dissolves also.

In fact, I think those things NEED to happen. Or at the very least, have a meltdown and restructure themselves.

To answer this question: I went to Europe in September, and I wasn't embarrassed to admit I was American, which I would have been anytime under GW's regime. I gave GW 4 years to make his mark. When he failed miserably, I voted for John Kerry, and never got my wish -- however, based on seeing one COMPLETE Bush term, I had fodder to criticize his presidency.

Having this much hatred for a president less than one year into his term reflects either (1) stupidity (which is probably the case here) or (2) bigotry (not saying you are, but many are, including several of my Ohio counterparts).

But, i must say, i've heard countless times on the politics board how Obama supporters are also just sheep, uneducated, lazy, etc., so it certainly goes both ways.

And, i think Obama's education speaks to the fact that he is at least "smart."

I know that most people think it is worthless and seemingly despise him for having worked hard and received an education at some of the top universities in the world, but he does have that.

But, i'm going to be crucified for bringing it up, anyways.

I know that his education alone isn't enough to make him a good president, but the people that completely dismiss it are ridiculous.
