Kemba Walker continued his torrid play with another 30 point effort and lead the young Huskies past the #2 ranked Spartans. This was a tight game for most of the 2nd half until Walker hit a difficult fade away from the side that put the Huskies ahead for good.

I am not sure Walker can keep this up, but when he does play well the Huskies are a dangerous team.

This is a typical MSU team. A little rusty to start the season. They still lack a legit big man and a wing capable of playing on the perimeter. Roe looks like Roe of the past two years. Many were proclaiming him the next coming and he, much like Raymont Morgan, just hasn't developed an outside game. Still great athletes who on any given nite, can have a great game. But very inconsistant. I think this MSU team isn't much different then last year. Not a true post, inconsistant perimeter shooting. Great athletes who will be physical, bang boards and play great defense. Its obviously worked for them to get to final four. But not quite sure it will get them over the hump and win it all. I think OSU is currently a better team, has better pieces to the puzzle. Izzo is the X factor though.

Roe is never going to be the player he was projected to be. Knee injuries have taken their toll.

That doesn't mean the Spartans won't be very good in March.

I think you mean it was the TOTALLY WRONG call with just seconds left that gave UConn the ball back that but the Huskies up for good. ;)

Last year what hurt them wasnt inconsistent perimeter shooting or not having a true post, It was having their all american caliber PG not playing IMO

Kalin Lucas bounced back with a great effort in the win over Washington. He led the Spartans to victory by scoring 29 points that helped the Spartans overcome a 10 point halftime deficit.

How can centralbucksfan say Ohio State is better than the Spartans. For one, they do not play the schedule Michigan State does and they are certainly a perimete oriented team. Don't tell me, but the Bucks have Sullinger. Not a believer yet. When it comes to the Big 10 and into March, The Spartans will be ready. Coach Izzo will make sure of that.

You know the schedule means nothing essentially. I agree that Izzo will have them ready come Big 10/March, have no doubt about it, by far one of the best Big10 coaches out there. But you can't discount the play/existence of Sully. He will draw way too much attention in the paint to be discounted, regardless of his scoring ability which can't be denied anyway. Of course this means opening up opportunities elsewhere.

I don't see dropping a game in the Maui as an issue, Izzo imo, wasn't really playing to "win" the tourney as much as he was building the team for down the stretch. Calhoun didn't utilize all of his bench, Tom did....pre season tourneys are great and all, but Izzo sees the big picture. I like the philosophy.

Could it be that Ohio State has just as much, if not more talent than MSU? A team that Billy Donavon said is better than the one last year even without Evan Turner.

The schedule? Yes MSU has a better schedule, duh. But as mentioned, it really doesn't mean jackshit in the big picture. OSU beat the hell out of Sparty last year if I recall correctly, at MSU to boot. OSU was better last year, won big ten and big ten tourny. MSU is good. I never said they weren't. This year, we'll see. But I like our chances.

Yeah they(OSU won 74-67 last year, think they only meet once this year too unfortunately.

But yeah it doesnt really matter whos better right now, and so far id say OSU is probably better simply bc theyre undefeated. Luckily for college basketball we dont have to debate whos better like in college football. Theres a tourny that solves all problems
