I'd say this extension is all about the merchandise dollars Hendricks rakes in.

Well he does have a 19 point lead over Hamlin to stay in the chase so he's not all appearance

Jr's Hendricks years:
2008: 1 win, 10 Top 5's, 16 Top 10's, 12th place finish in points
2009: 0 wins, 2 Top 5's, 5 Top 10's, 25th place finish in points
2010: 0 wins, 3 Top 5's, 8 Top 10's, 21st place finish in points
2011: 0 wins, 3 Top 5's, 8 Top 10's, 10th in points (Was up to third as far back as 6 weeks ago, since then, he's had finishes of 16th, 15th, 30th, 19th, 41st, and 21st..dropping 7 spots in just those 6 weeks)
What would give you any indication Hendrick would keep Junior around other than the money he brings Hendricks in? He let Kyle Busch go because of his performance and his numbers were WAY better than what Jr's has been.

He didn't let Kyle go because of performance, it was to make room for Junior and also Jeff and Jimmie weren't big fans of Kyle. Performance had absolutely nothing to do with why Kyle Busch left Hendrick.

Yes, I know Kyle was let go to bring in Junior, but if you remember, Hendrick said he replaced him because the performance of the #5 team was lackluster so he thought it was time to go in a new direction. Of course, he was probably just saying that as a dig on Kyle for Kyle coming out and saying that he had no idea he was being replaced after they both supposedly mutually agreed to part ways. Which Kyle denied.

Pastrana has delayed his Nationwide debut until 2012 because of the injuries he suffered at the X Games. Damn it. I'm really curious to see how this guy can do. Seems like he succeeds in everything he does.

Denny out in front by 5 seconds but I'm not sure that is going to be the case much longer. Kyle who had a spin then a penalty was in the very rear now he is 2nd. Man is racing like a possessed animal.

Yah but the 2 tires might give Joey the win.

Great strategy by the Penske guys...were already falling to the back...so they pit BEFORE the rain fall. Let's see how this plays out...

Looks like we are going back Green!
Brad and Kurt looks like they are going to be the big winners not having to pit when they get going.

Damn it's killing Denny pitting behind Newman. It has slowed him down leaving a couple of times now.

Nice run for Brad with all the injuries he has. Jimmy and Kurt fighting down the backstretch..be some words there. Good run for 88 all in finally a decent Pocono race.
