That's DW for ya.

Yea, it starts for real with the "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity.......let's go racin' boys" and goes down hill from there.

My favorite was towards the end of the race when Ragan got black flagged: "They timed it perfectly, but just went to soon."

Huh?

Actually it makes sense.

He did time the drop of the green flag perfectly on that restart, however he made a lane change before he got to the stripe (went too soon), thus the black flag.

Partially correct. But he was talking about hooking up with the inside car. In which case, he didn't time it right because he changed over too soon. It was just a funny comment.

That's what I said right when they interviewed him after the race. In fact, I got up and walked out saying something like "what a douche bag, God didn't drive the car."

Haters gonna hate. Proves the marketing guy's point about possibly being polarizing though. He's just a kid, and SQ hates him because he praises God for his success.

HOW DID YOU CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY AND ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE CELEBRITY THAT IS ABOUT TO COME YOUR WAY?
“I don’t know if I am prepared for that. To answer your question, we had a birthday dinner Friday night before the Nationwide race with my crew from Nationwide and my Cup guys at a seafood restaurant. Everybody was together, my friends and my mom and dad. It was really cool.

“Last night on my actual birthday we just went to bed. Before that we rode around on the golf cart and into the campgrounds and hung out with some of the fans. A couple of my buddies got in a wheel barrel race and they won that too. So that is what inspired me today. It was fun to go out and see the fans that come to support us and the good time they have at these races. This is cool. This will be the best birthday celebration I have ever had tonight.”

He's not a kid. He's a man, and he's a pro athlete--he is subject to anything that any other driver is.

I can't stand anyone who does something great and then praises God for letting it happen. That's really the only reason I can't stand Tim Tebow.

That's a pretty retarded reason to 'hate' someone. Who gives a fuck who they thank? So he has faith. Big deal. What the hell is wrong with that? He's not the only driver that has 'thanked god' after winning a race. When you're driving 170 mph week in and week out, I don't think there is anything wrong with someone having a little faith in something/someone.

How about yourself as a driver? "God" didn't drive the fucking car.

Religion is madness.

That's you're opinion, and you're entitled to it. Just like he's entitled to his religious beliefs. If he thinks God had a hand in him winning the race. Big deal. Get over it.

Wait, aren't you a Jr. fan? Haven't you ever heard him thank god after winning a race? He has 'faith' in a higher power as well. Why don't you hate him?

No surprise here, according to Forbes:

"NASCAR's strongest and most valuable team remains Hendrick Motorsports. With a valuation of $350 million on revenues of $177 million in 2010, Hendrick is worth 56% more than the next-highest-grossing team, Roush Fenway Racing, which [Forbes] value at $224 million on revenues of $140 million last year. Hendrick earned a NASCAR-high $18 million in operating income (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) in 2010. Richard Childress Racing was third on the list, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing and Penske Racing. Rounding out the top 10: Stewart-Haas, Michael Waltrip Racing, Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports, and Red Bull Racing.

Despite his lack of success in recent years on the track, Dale Earnhardt Jr. remains NASCAR's highest-paid driver, earning $29 million in 2010 thanks to merchandise sales that are the best in the sport and reportedly account for one-third of all NASCAR licensed merchandise sales. Other income streams include a 10-figure annual salary from Hendrick and a 50% share of his $4.9 million in winnings and bonuses in 2010 from Sprint Cup races. Earnhardt also has a bevy of personal endorsements, including Chevrolet, Nationwide and Wrangler. Hendrick teammate Jeff Gordon follows Earnhardt in the NASCAR money standings with earnings of $25 million last year. It is a clean sweep for Hendrick at the top with five-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson, the third-highest-paid driver at $24 million. The rest of the top 10: Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, and Matt Kenseth."

SQ, he also thanked his crew chief, owner, team, other drivers, fans, parents, etc. along with thanking God. I see no problem and don't care how much or how little someone expresses their religious thanks in a moment of celebration. NFL players often take a knee after a TD, does that piss you off? God might have inspired the player to work harder and be strong enough to break tackles, so maybe God broke those tackles. Bayne has been inspired and taught since birth to believe and now he has reason to, he won the 500 at 20 years old. He is naive, really. His childhood was very structured, but in a good way. Some 20 year old athletes are out getting arrested and suspended, then posting ignorant remarks on twitter. Would you like Bayne more if he had a violent criminal record?

wow that's insane, i would have never imagined 1 of every 3 dollars could go to one driver in a sport so big.
