WTF is up with RPM having a 2nd and 7th in qualifying. That's surprising for Ambrose and the Dinger too.

Seems like RPM is starting to put themselves back on the map since Petty has control again. The Gillete's were never at the track, but wanted to run the race team. You just can't do it that way. All the top owners are at the track almost week in and week out. I'm not really surprised by Allmendinger. He's always shown bright spots. I think he has the talent if given the equipment, but he was always put on the back burner and everything was given to Vickers. Same with Ambrose, you see bright spots with him, some great runs, just not a lot of solid finishes. But, he wasn't with a team that's really funded to win Cup races either. I can see A.J. making the chase this year. Ambrose, not so much.

Ol' man Martin won his 49th Nationwide race today, always good to see him in Victory Lane. Patrick with a surprising 4th place finish. Great run for her. I'll chalk it up to luck for now, but we'll see. I believe they said it was the best finish for a woman since 1949?

Enjoy it..he won't stay there. :D I wish Kenseth would switch to another team. I'm a fan of his, but just can't support him since he drives for Jack Roush. LOL

I missed Martin's win, hope he can double today. I'll be at Victor Wainwright & The Wild Roots free Bike Week concert.

Not for certain, but I'd imagine its probably about a title sponsorship for the July race.

Nope, nothing exciting. Just found this on Jayski's though, so sounds like that's what it is.

"Kentucky Speedway officials will make a sponsorship announcement prior to Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "I think you'll find it to be a pretty significant sponsorship announcement," Kentucky Speedway general manager Mark Simendinger said. While he did not elaborate, officials with the track and the company that owns it have been working to land a title sponsor for the inaugural Sprint Cup Series race in July. The 400-mile race is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on July 9."

Glad to see the Petty's haven't given up on the midwest Victory Junction camp.

"Pattie Petty, wife of former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty, is so serious about making sure the Victory Junction Midwest camp planned for Wyandotte County becomes a reality, she has moved to Kansas City. Victory Junction Midwest, a year-round facility for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses, was to open by the end of 2011, but it ran into some unexpected problems last year. First, the original piece of property - on 71 acres at 8205 Riverview in Kansas City, Kan. - was deemed unsuitable for a hospital after soil samples were examined during excavation. Also, Mike Lepore, the camp's original president, left last summer for another job in Chicago, which put the project behind in its fund-raising efforts. The Pettys have identified another 70-to-80-acre location for the $35 million camp closer to Kansas Speedway and the Village West retail area than the original site. A benefactor will help buy the property, and once the core drilling and other preliminary studies are complete, they hope to announce the location in the next two weeks."
