This thread is brought up every one in awhile, but since I have a 30 minute commute I've begun to listen to books on tape in the car, so any recommendations? I am listening to "The Shack" right now and have "Lone Survivor" up next.

Haha I actually do. But I've been listening to these on my Ipod. It's an 01 civic, and the cd player I used to have was stolen out of my Wrangler at YSU.

Well, it's not a book on tape so it probably won't work for you but this will be my next read:

One Step at a Time

I was actually living with his wife (then GF) at the time the incident happened for my brief year and a half stay in Indianapolis. I was able to meet Josh the day I moved out and back to Ohio. Good people.

The Shack is an excellent book. I've actually given away 3 copies to my friends/family, and then I have to buy yet another one for myself LOL (I keep all my books, you should see my library!)

Anytime someone asks for suggestions I bring up Cormac Mccarthy. His books are excellent.

Untie her then shoot her in the head.

Give her that glimmer of hope, that feeling that "yes! I made it out alive" before snatching it all away with the flash of the barrel.

No.

Cormac Mccarthy wrote Blood Meridian, Sutree, All The Pretty Horses (and the other two books in the Border Trilogy), No Country For Old Men, and The Road.

Right, The Road. I just watched that movie, I knew the author sounded familiar. I want to read that book.

I borrowed the road from the Library, after a few recommendations but it started out slow and once I got time to read it it was due back. Maybe I need to try it again.

I really enjoyed the movie but I feel like I would probably enjoy the book a little more.

If you liked the movie you'll definitely enjoy the book. It's one you can crank out in a day if you have some time.
