There's no doubt he knew Cooke was coming, he looked back for him before he went in to the corner and he glanced back at him right before he took the hit. And to elaborate more, it's a penalty because you can't check someone from behind. Whether or not Tyutin knew it was coming is irrelevant, Cooke shouldn't have made the hit.
