The pressure is really on in the postseason and Ovechkin hasn't proven that he's clutch when it truly counts. At least not yet.

The Winter Classic is mostly about getting more exposure for hockey. It's a big game/event, but it's not bigger than the Stanley Cup Finals. Maybe to the casual fans who tune in once or twice a year. Just like NBA games on Christmas aren't bigger than the NBA Finals. Kudos to the Caps though. They got the 2 points last night.

Postseason and tournament wise. Sid>OV

Also, what the Caps were doing in the latter part of the third I never want them to do that again. The figured out Bylsma's system and knew when to counter attack perfectley. Kudos to the pairing of Alzner and Carlson.

I watched a little of the game. It was pretty cool and a great atmosphere.
Apparently, there were a ton of Caps fan there.

Nice win by the Caps. I'm a CBJ fan, but a hockey fan in general too. It is always great to see the Kid vs. the Great 8. Hopefully, we get to see it in the playoffs too. You could really see the hate toward its other at the end of the game. Good stuff though.

Some people think that the Pens and Caps is a media rivalry, wrong. These two teams really do hate each other.

BTW......Pens and Crosby have won a Stanley Cup, Ovechkin and the Caps can't even make the finals. You want to join in on the discussion, great.......but know what the hell your talking about instead of trying to instigate trouble!

BTW, the supposed best player in hockey, in your eyes, trails Crosby in every single offensive stat there is.

There's nothing to figure out really, it's high tempo in your face fore checking hockey for 60 minutes and every team they line up against knows it's coming. Pens made too many mistakes, especially the howler by Fleury.

Stats are for losers. Glad I got your panties in a bunch because I think overall OV is better than Crosby, crosby really lacks the defense that OV brings every night. OV has even called him out for being a puss. I see Crosby as a one way player and def dont see him spark his teammates the way that OV does.

The debate over who is the best player in hockey is dead. At first is was Ovie, because he was the better scorer. Now Crosby has separated himself and fully put the debate to rest.

Thats as far as I will go with that. Commander you solidified as as an unintelligent hater when it comes to hockey when you said Pitts "could't handle a passionate arena"....lmao...good one.

Spark his teammates? How with 33 assists next to his 32 goals?

Ovie, 28 and 14.

Like I said...the debate is OVER.

I was referring to the gems you were posting in an earlier Pens thread. Thats fine if your opinion is Ovechkin is better, but not many will agree with it. I'm also an Ovechkin fan, I love his game, but hes not on the same level as Crosby right now.

The best way to beat the Pens is to play a trap against them. Bylsma has a hard time figuring out what to do when a team traps. What the caps did though was have a 1-4 forecheck and it demolished anything the Pens tried to do.

Your so fucking clueless it's not funny! It's obvious you have one goal and that's to start trouble because anyone with an inkling of hockey knowledge knows you're 100% wrong on that asessment. Ovechkin plays better defense, LMFAO, he plays NO defense, get a fucking clue dumbass!

Bylsma knows how to beat the trap it's the players who need to show more patience against that style.......dump and chase.

God forbid I dont agree that Crosby is god's gift to hockey. I obviously can't talk some real hockey with any of you here, its nothing about a Crosby is the greatest and you're an idiot if you have a different opinion thread.

He's the best offensive forward in the game with a defensive upside. But as of right now he's no Pavel Datsyuk in the defensive department.

Crosby has actually progressed rather nicely on his defense. You could have said that in his rookie year and still might have been reaching.

Let me guess...you heard stat in the winter classic how Ovechkin was top 5 in hits so "zomg hes is super good at defense!"

OV has a higher +/- than Crosby - So crosby is on the ice for more goals against than Ovie - So yes Ovie trumps Crosby.
