Dont see a coach get suspended too often, but he may have gotten off easy on this one actually. Asking parents to keep violations quiet for him.

Interesting. I'm not certain, but I think he was the coach at D2 Southern Indiana and they became a national power, but was found out to have been in numerous NCAA violations, so he has a history.

He should have been fired. Just another example of how the SEC pretty much condones cheating.

Huh? Not sure I ever read anything at all about any kind of violations while at D2 Southern Indiana. He built them into a power. He was involved in blowing the whistle on Illinois, then basicallyh blackballed for head coaching jobs for doing so.

With the SEC at the center of soooo many alleged violations currently, I have a hard time believing they won't pile on. Eight conference games? Odd penalty if you ask me.

This is absolutely nothing. He can still coach practices and all of that.

The SEC is such a joke when it comes to rules.

That is half of the conference games. There is no way Tennessee will fire him he is the best basketball coach in school history (on the mens side).

I didn't say he'd be or should be fired. Just that the NCAA will in all probability add to it, though it won't be this season. They're going to put the investigation of the football program and the basketball program together and rule on it in the spring. At least that's the way I understand it.
