When I was in 4th grade my mom and I got a call from my grandmother (father's side) informing us that my uncle had been shot and killed. My uncle and I were pretty close. He had lived with us for a while when my parents were still married. I was devastated. It was ruled a suicide but there were some shady details surrounding the incident which lead us to believe that he was murdered and it was set up to look like a suicide. It could just be us not wanting to think he would do something like that but it did seem improbable especially with the details surrounding the way he was found (but I don't want to get into the details of that).

I've been thinking about it a lot lately for some reason and I'd really like to know what happened that night so I could have some sort of closure.

I'll agree with that.

Weird. My wife's uncle died in a similar manner. Her family still suspects foul play, the police apparently never even questioned their initital reaction of suicide.

I would like to know what the point of all this is. Is there some grand scheme to everything or just random unimportant events? (similar to cc's post, but if the answer is that the bible is fiction then I want to know what the fuck is really going on)

what happened to me the night i blacked out swigging Jack Daniels in Marietta on my friends' porch, and awoke the next morning, in MARR, OH with an extra small tuxedo on (minus the shirt and vest, but with bowtie, and for those that don't know i'm like a XL easy) that had been torn to shreds, a newly chipped tooth. a golf club through the rear passenger window of my dodge neon, and a 4 foot tall statue of the virgin mary in the back seat.

I'll never forget waking up in the driver's seat with the engine running, my buddy passed out in the passenger seat, at the corner of state highway 260 and "big injun rd"

My stepdad's brother was shot by his wife (she said she thought he was a burglar) and the family always suspected it wasn't an accident. I never met him so I wouldn't really say that's a mystery from my life...but it would be interesting to know the truth.

This girl I was banging for a while got pregnant, and I asked her if it was mine and she said no. The timing was really awkward, but til this day I still don't know if its my child or not, and apparently the "father" is obsessed with the kid, which makes me even more suspicious since my genes are from the hands of god.

Who my parents are.

I was adopted. Mother was a 15 year old, and father is MIA. My adopted parents told me she was 14 when she got pregnant with me, but she didnt know who the father was.

I just recently found out I am at least half Lithuanian though!

If you believe jesus parted an entire fucking sea, then you are dumb...the bible accounted events in metaphors, it's not some prophecy

That was my first thought. Then I remembered that I had it figured out before the big reveal...and won the pot of money from our family pool.

Interesting thread.

It's tough to think of a mystery that I'd want solved. For the most part, I'm okay with not knowing the answers to everything. If I had to pick something, though, maybe I'd focus on my brother's death: He was 16 when he died 4 1/2 years ago. He went to bed fine, woke up with an upset stomach (talked to my mom about it briefly in the night), and was dead in the morning. The autopsy was inconclusive but suggested it could be a heart issue.

It was very random and scary to have a healthy 16 year-old die in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. If it's something genetic, I'd like to know, as perhaps I could be at risk. Or if it's just a fluke thing, that'd be helpful to know, too.

it's curious to me that so many chatterers have been touched by mysterious deaths. i have none, 2 of my unlces died in accidents (one at work, one a drunk driver) and all of my grandparents died of old age/illness associated with getting up into the 80's.

i would have to say i'd like to find out how our universe came into existence. it always bugs me when i think about it, what was there before? how did it get there? what created the "creator"?

i guess thats more than one mystery.
