Let's say for instance that Canton McKinley makes the state title game, now instead of playing a St. X, or a Moeller, they play a Centerville, or a Pickerington????
Take last year for example, let's say that when Medina upsets McKinley, it's in the state semi finals, that Medina team could very easily win the next week for the state championship....Unless of course they're playing a state sponsored all star team.
This is where I disagree with your line of thinking. And I believe it's is the core of your problem. You are defeated before you even take the field. We are talking about one game, played by 15-18 year old kids. I am a firm believer that any team can beat any other team on any given night. As a Mooney fan, I think back to when we were supposed to destroy Galion, or how we were supposed to cruise over Coldwater...twice. You only have to be better than your opponent for 48 minutes.
And the thinking of "well shit, it's a Catholic school...they cheat...we're going to lose" means you are already set up for failure. The fact is, these are still kids. And upsets happen a lot. But going in thinking that the Catholic school is going to hand it to you (for whatever reason you may think it) usually means that you're going to get it handed to you. Going in confident can bring different results. And believe me, the kids read these forums. So seeing their fans stomp their feet and cry that things aren't fair doesn't help the kids any. You're not doing them any favors by carrying on like you do on the subject.
My main problem with the way you approach this subject, skank, is that you paint all the private schools with this broad brush that they are all cheaters and recruit players illegally...simply because they win. When you have shown a private school getting caught, nobody has defended the actions. All agreed that if a school (both public or private) breaks the rules they deserve to be punished. But it's funny to me that you act like this is something that only private schools do, despite people posting stories numerous times about public schools getting busted...and receiving the same penalties as private schools...for recruiting. You turn a blind eye to that completely, and act like that never goes on.
Bottom line, I don't agree with your way of thinking that private schools cheat. Do some schools (both private and public) have advantages over others? Hell yes. Whether that's tradition, facilities, great coaching, or whatever the case...some schools have advantages. But to act like it's just the privates that have advantages is silly. The proof? As mentioned above, cities like Warren, Steubenville, Canton all feature schools that have better public programs than private programs. If private schools were all cheaters and recruited illegally, that wouldn't be the case.
