Idk, our top tackler was born and raised in Massillon, our leader in interceptions was born and raised in Massillon, (his dad just happens to be a Tiger great), our leader in sacks was born and raised in Massillon.

Vouchers are determined by the state, not the coaches of Ursuline, Mooney, or any other Catholic school. Vouchers are offered to all students in a failing district. Are those ideas really that confusing to you?

I am a fan of an open enrollment public school. My school can bring in kids from Youngstown (or any other district) for free. Your school certainly knows that they can bring in kids from all over for free. Your school can bring in anyone they want for free from the Youngstown district.

I've said from day one I understand the voucher scam, er, I mean system, yet you have tried to explain it 10 times. I'll type slowly here....I U N D E R S T A N D. NOW, do YOU understand how the parochial school coaches are using them to their advantage? In an illegal way.

Please, do not explain it again, followed by a "what is so confusing about this", comment.

If the parochial coaches are using them in an illegal way (which I don't think they are), then public school coaches are using open enrollment in an illegal way. The two are the exact same idea except vouchers are limited to certain districts, and open enrollment schools can allow kids to come for free from any district.

Don't waste your time. He doesn't understand logic, just anti-parochial bs. I would be willing to bet that both Skank and Thick spend a lot of time listening to Rush Limbaugh.

I know, and the really ironic part about it is that I am a public school guy. In the first few rounds I normally root for the public schools from Trumbull and Mahoning County. After that, I root for whoever is left from Trumbull and Mahoning County. If Ursuline, Mooney, or Kennedy is playing a team from another part of the state, I will root for them since they are local. I think a valid argument can be made that private schools and open enrollment schools have an advantage over schools that don't have open enrollment. However, I find it laughable that the people doing the most complaining on here represent two open enrollment schools who draw players from all over the place. Massillon and Big Red both have some great fans and are great places to see a game, it's too bad that two of their fans on here present such a bigoted view.

I really don't care what you believe politically (there is another forum for that). I don't hate schools or kids based upon their religious affiliations. I don't let a school's religious belief influence who I hope wins the game. I basically root for teams that I have connections with from my own experience, family, or friends. After that I root based upon geography. When Massillon plays the Christian school from Delaware, I hope Massillon wins. I root for the Ohio team when playing an out-of-state team. When I watch football games, I've never tried to figure out what religion the players on the team are. You have expressed anti-Catholic views for 111 pages. It's a good thing that you aren't a bigot because who knows what you would have said if that were the case

Wait, now the Parochial schools just focus on football? Skank has said that Akron St. V's cheated to get Lebron into the school to play basketball. You guys have pointed out St. Ed's dominance in wrestling and said it is because they cheat. You say you don't talk out of both sides...but there it is in black and white. You guys like to say one thing, and then three days later on the thread come up with a different take that still doesn't make sense.

And as for the parochial schools "not caring" about other sports or art...Mooney's speech team was one of the best in the state when I was in high school. And even still they send quite a few kids to the state tournament and nationals every single year. In case you didn't realize it, the speech team brings in $0 to the school (and actually costs the school money if the kids aren't able to do enough fund raising on their own). But Mooney still supports their speech and debate teams with great coaches, and the support of the school. And because of that, they succeed.

And I stand by it. I never waivered, you can say "you say this one time and then you say that another", not me buddy, I stand by what I say. Gerry Faust renting a home HE owned to the Francisco family....Was a few days before vouchers.

Ill give my back to . you catholic schools have cheated the greatest high school team out of many titles The OHSAA that is, because it is obvious you guys have friends on the board ...Its time the public schools take back .. im tired of divisions 1, 2, 3 ,4 ,5 6 all star teams. the catholic schools run everything ..Massillon and teams like that made Ohio a football power Its time we take it back

Maybe you should have payed attention while you were in Church. Where there any black people in the church the one time you went? As far as Massillon making Ohio football they do have a fine tradition but come on man that was 40 years ago. What have you done for me lately. On the other hand Steubenville has been consistantly good over many years. There is a big difference between Steubenville and Massillon.

Thanks for ignoring my point AGAIN thinthick. Way to just pick and choose your arguments. That's one thing that can be said about skank. If he gets called out on something...SOME OF THE TIME he'll respond to it. Thinthick, you just completely ignore it when someone calls you out on something you have said.

Keep picking and choosing what to respond to. I learned from the fine debate team at Mooney that it means you are losing.

How do vouchers, and targeting kids from surrounding areas with letters, tie together?

Every month or so I get a multi-page newsletter from my public school district. It has complete sports updates, along with who's going to play where in college, articles on how great the schools are, etc., etc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with letters to kids in surrounding areas, no matter who does it.

Vouchers are government's alternatives to miserable school districts. Would you condemn a promising kid to a 4th grade reading and math level? They are not granted based on athletics.

Whatever you keep smoking, it's not working on anyone else. Recruiting kids to a school is always wrong in your eyes, except when public schools do it, and then it's all the private school's fault. You blame others for imagined hurts to explain your side's failures more than our president, and that's a lot.

Why can't anyone see this is not right. Recruit them for academics and provide them with more opportunity. I have no problem with. For athletics, than these schools are only trying to profit from a KID.

It's amazing that some schools (public or private) have to provide info. I guess not everyone can be like Massillon where the kids just somehow show up there.

They'll come to Massillon for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway, not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. "Of course, we won't mind if you have a look around," you'll say.

Don't try and play this off as the same, these newsletters are harmless and you know it. After all, how much athletic eligibility do YOU have left? And they are decidedly different than "TARGETING" athletes.
