Every time a story comes up with an allegation that happened, magically people always come up with saved texts or voicemails. Cam Newton, Jenn Sterger, Roger Clemens accuser, etc..

Question 1 - Who the hell is recording everyday phone calls, keeping their texts and pictures..saving them for years?

I don't know about you, but I don't even keep meaningful texts. I don't even keep a phone more than a year. Does anyone carry over old texts from phone to phone?

I don't even know what my oldest email is.. not very old.

Texts - with few exceptions, don't keep...not that it matters because I might send/receive 20 texts per month.

Voicemail - only save with vendors, once the job is over I delete them.

E-mail - have saved every single e-mail I've sent/received (that wasn't spam) since '04, have two external hard drives that do nothing more than back-up the tens of thousands of messages. Besides recording work history, it saves the various iterations of attachments. Very useful.

I am with you. I never record a call. After I listen to a voicemail I delete it. I clear out my text messages often because it gets cluttered. Now I save some pics/videos that are sent to me usually for later purposes :).

I've never saved anything...but if a hot ass celebrity sent me one, fuck yeah I'd save it.

I have several voice mails saved. Most of them are drunken messes.

You don't save pointless texts or voice mails. But if I had someone trying to extort money from me or a famous celebrity sexting me and leaving incriminating phone messages I sure as hell would save them.

The real idiots are these celebrities and high profile sports figures sending detailed sexually charged texts. And even more idiotic, pictures of their junk. I mean common sense tells you if you are a wealthy (especially if you are married) high profile figure and you are sending pictures of your junk to someone else, it is not going to end well. Some of these clowns are sending them to attention seeking whores. Any rational person would not send pics of their junk anywhere. I would not even send one to my wife.

Agreed. These people are generally wealthy and could afford prepaid disposable phones to do these sorts of things with if they're determined to do them, that way nothing could be traced back to them.

I keep lots of old text messages and voicemails. I even keep old phones when I get new ones so I don't lose my texts.

And if I was a money grubbing whore trying to extort money from someone, I would definitely keep those texts and/or voicemails.

I have every text saved of my phone from the last 3 yrs. Its keeps them and I havent cleared them out. VMs get deleted a month after listening to automatically so I dont go out of my way to delete them either.

I dont keep or save shit. But I also am not being texted/sexted/whatever by famous movie stars/athletes/whatever. If I was, Id be saving everything and probably would respond to keep it going. The more proof the better for me!
