RW at Hiland and Garaway at Malvern are the key games outside of the obvious: Garaway at Hiland on Friday.

RW/Hiland postponed till wed. I'll be surprised if it actually gets played with the latest forecast i saw. If postponed again, I heard it gets moved to Saturday (5th).
Will be interested to see how how Malvern plays Garaway when they visit. Assume that game got postponed as well? makeup date?
Don't forget Garaway visits Ridgewood the last game of the season as well.

hhmmm, Ridgewood had the night off? Hopefully the Hawks will have some intensity left for tonight. Could be interesting.

They beat Glen Oak and Benedictine on consecutive nights a few weeks ago. I think that bodes well for a Garaway/RW double-header.

Ridgewood 52

Ridgewood led if I recall by 7 at the half and also held a 7 or eight point lead late in the 4th but could not hang on. Travis Tucci had a least 32.

^^How does he compare to his brother? Same style player?...I haven't seen him play yet.

similary players... I think this Tucci likes the mid-range and out jumpers more than Tyler did. Don't get me wrong, he does like to get to the rim, but he's arguably a bit quicker IMO and is going to go around rather than absorb as much contact as his brother did. But as far as things running through him like they did Tyler, clearly thats still the case.

He's a Tucci, for sure. Has a ways to go in matching Tyler's leadership ability.

Ricola, give us a recap of the Hawks win over NCT. Looks like Seger is really finding his groove.

It was pretty much a beat down from the start.( tho we we were outscored 3-2 to start the game! It looked bad for the first 30 seconds, after that we could all breathe easier with a 1st qtr lead of 21-8.) Even scoring for hiland: 14,14,10,10,8...or something like that. Any 5 hiland had on the floor had the advantage, and they extended their lead through the game. I thought we played well on both ends: making the extra pass, and getting to's and stops and rebounds defensively. On the bright side for NCT, they had a nice athletic post who blocked sevral of our shots convincingly. I think there's still a dent in the padding from one swipe that nearly went through the wall!
Seger played his usual great game--another awesome no look dish-- but hard to single out any one guy. Neil played great. He could be starting for any other team in the conference, and putting up huge numbers given the minutes, but who are you gonna sit to get him the minutes? His hook post move is money---unstoppable IMO. Luke had some nice plays--a few great passes (one floor length gem) and made some nice shots. Top to bottom a nice game. The last few games they seem to be gelling.
Coach must have thought so as well as he gave them off today--no practice!

Music to my ears! Yeah, I think they are right where they need to be to do something special in the next few weeks.

With Seger recently becoming hot from beyond the arc and Neil becoming very effective in the post, Coach S has some new arrows in his quiver coming into tourney play.

Since the Garaway game on 2/4, Hiland hasn't played any heavy weights, but Ridgewood is a good team and they smoked them. And against NCT, SV, and CV the Hawks basically put those games out of reach in the 1st qtr. I like the way they are playing heading into the tournament. They are primed to do some special things in the next month.

looks like the Garaway-Malvern game was cancelled again, despite roads that were clear and good weather. Who was the away team here?...oh yeah, Garaway...sound familiar?

Now, now, all roads were not clear and everyone was watching out for the Garaway fans so they didn't have any accidents :)

yeah, those roads in garaway school district seem to get an extra dose of snow, and seem to take twice as long to get clear!

Looks like you can run but you can't hide. Garaway had to play the game sooner or later. Malvern again does the hawks a favor and knocks off Garaway. Hiland takes the IVC by themselves.
Malvern is playing very well right now. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them beat Rosecrans in the semis. Either way, Hiland will have their hands full if they can get to the district finals.
