Just wondering what happened to all the Bungal fans on here? Before the season started there were plenty of fans on here saying this was their year. Who you think will be your new coach and qb next season? What's the future of T.O. and Ocho Quito?

I have put away the gear by Halloween as usual. Some shit never changes. I hope they blow it up to point but we shall see.

This is a question for you and pretty much any Bengal fan...what is your opinion of Marvin Lewis? I really liked him after watching Hard Knocks....I thought he was pretty stand up guy and the players really seemed like they respected him.

From an outside perspective, I think his message has started to fall on deaf ears. Outside of 2 seasons, the bengals seem to always get off to a slow start under him, though from what I understand, Mike Brown is cheap so I wouldn't look to see him being fired anytime before his contract runs out.

I've never had a problem with Lewis, but he can't succeed under Mike Brown. They need a stronger personality at head coach with the type of guys they draft and sign.

I concur with this. It's not that they aren't competitive this season but it doesn't matter when your 2-7. He's been good for Cinci but I would think they need to go out and get someone else they have take 1 step forward and 3 steps back. The offense is vanilla and the defense should be better although injuries have played a major part. I would think you bring Carson back one more year and try to draft/trade for a qb. Same goes for Cedric he has returned to Bear form for the most part and I'm not sure if he hasn't peaked as a back in the NFL. TO will be gone but I think Chad will be back.

Yeah. That's something I look at as Cincy's biggest failing and probably why they're in the situation (bottom o' the division) that they are. I think he's a good coach, but more of a passive leader who would probably fit in best with a team with mature, veteran leadership (like, I'd say Lewis is a better coach than Caldwell, but that guy has Peyton Manning running his show). And Cincy seems to go after attention whore types and guys with past legal issues. I think you need a stronger presence if you're going to have T.O., Ocho, Pac-Man, Tank Johnson, etc. on your team.

In Marvins defense those players have worked out for the most part both off and on the field.

I didn't really explain myself well, but what I meant was more along the lines of wondering if under him, the team just doesn't have the chemistry to be consistent winners. It seems like every week, it's the same story: some guys step up and have big games, other guys seem near-invisible. Then the next week, it's other guys stepping up. But you don't have games where it's THE TEAM stepping up — just some guys here and some guys there.

Last week I was listening to Mike & Mike on the way to school, and they were talking about the Bengals/Steelers game. Golich said the Steelers generally just don't do lose games like that because they're more disciplined and don't make the dumb mistakes. When was the last time we could say that about the Bengals? It's the same shit, week after week, season after season. They play down to the level of the competition and find ways to beat themselves. That's the difference between this season and last season. Last season they found themselves in the same close games but they somehow managed to eek out the win in the end. This year they're doing the opposite. I wonder how much they're going to lose before something has to change. I guess this is the last year for Marvin's contract -- I really really hope he won't be back.
As for the other offensive players, I don't know. They're all so inconsistent. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Palmer, Ocho Cinco, and TO were all gone at the end of the year. What has this core of Palmer, Ocho Cinco and Marvin Lewis really accomplished over the past five years? They've made the playoffs a couple times, but the end realization was that it was probably a fluke and they got bounced quickly by a stronger team. This is one of the drafts where there are 3-4 great QB's available in the first round -- would love for the Bengals to grab one.

As for the OP, I'm still here. Watched the entire Colts game this past Sunday -- will probably have to head to BW3s to watch this weekend.

I'd like to see TO, Palmer, Ocho, and Marvin all gone.

TO should have been cut yesterday. no need to let him reach his incentives, get some of the younger guys like Simpson and Briscoe some experience.

I'm hoping somehow they can get Luck and Harbaugh. I really think if they guaranteed Harbaugh they would draft Luck he would leave Stanford. I'm not big on college coaches as NFL hires but he's a guy that should succeed. In order to get Luck the Bengals would most likely have to lose Sunday to the Bills. I'm not rooting for them to lose but I wouldn't be upset.

The only emotion Palmer shows is when he throws a pick. That just doesn't work in the NFL, he needs to go.

To many me players on the Bungals. Should be interesting to watch if they can stumble over the Clowns and get out of the AFC North basement.

There are 31 NFL head coaches who are better than Jim Caldwell. He is terrible. I fear Peytons remaining good years will be ruined by his coaching.

It always cracks me up when Fans of opposing teams want to call other fans out for not out running their mouths about there team when they are not playing well. What should Bengal fans be doing "yeah we are one of the worst teams in the league" :) Browns fans are the only ones who still talk trash when their team sucks. (and no I am not saying the Bengals are better than the Browns)

I commented at the beginning of the season while I could still watch the games, but living in SE Ohio, we usually get whoever is hotter at the time. Thus we've been getting mostly all Browns this year. Which I don't really have a problem with, because I'd probably get an ulcer watching the Bengals find new and exciting ways to lose. I also don't mind watching Cleveland because I find it really hard to root for some of the guys on my team. There are very few redeemable characters on the Bengals team that you can rally around. I love watching Hillis play.

I have always been a defender of Lewis and Palmer, but it is time for both to go. Blow the whole thing up. It isn't going anywhere and hasn't for some time. You are assuring yourself of 6-7 wins with the status quo. Get rid of T.O. and Ochcocinco as well. As time goes on, I have come around to the Steelers/ Patriots/ Jim Tressel way of constructing a team. You win with stand-up guys. Not with guys like T.O. and Ocho Cinco. But I used to think like Mike Brown and I overrated team chemistry and thought you should always sign a talented player, even if he has warts (exception is Pacman, never thought they should have signed him)

Blow it up, draft a QB, hand the ball to Benson, and play defense.

I bet the bengals wish they had a do over on the trade proposal Washington gave them for OchoCinco, wasn't it 2 first rounders for him? There isn't anyone on the browns I wouldn't do that deal for except for maybe Joe Thomas/Alex Mack.

I question if there was any truth to that. I remember hearing, but I have a hard time thinking the Redskins would offer that. Especially when you look at some of the recent trades around the league. The Cardinals dealt Boldin for a 2nd rounder, right?
