Yeah, if my date didn't have a curfew, we would have stayed longer.

If we had made room for those two blonds like I wanted to....you wouldn't have made it home in time.

Dover showed alot of spirit though, I must have seen 200 tractors decorated up in red and gray in the parking lot.

Otherwise, I think Dover could have won...

I thought Steubenville was tougher than Marlington...

Regardless, hats off to the Dukes...

Dover will be back in 2011...mark my words!

Marlington shutdown colton zahner and steubenville did'nt dover will have a dominant defense up front next year. loosing a couple real good inside backers . hopefully will find a couple guys that can play in the secondary.

Final post for the year; I don't want to be like coyotes22 and others, talking game when your team is long gone, better to bow out gracefully....

After seeing many games played in Region 11, I would rate the best four teams, in order, as:

Sheridan
Steubenville
Dover
Marlington

No need for haters, it is only my opinion.
Good luck to the Dukes, wish you the best in the tournament.
Thanks for the great season Dover.
See you all in August 2011.......

It is time to move on. Kudos to Dover on another fine season. Congrats to Marlington on a very nice win and an exceptional season. This time next week we can all read the Duke posts about their season ending. Buchtel is just to fast and quick. The Griffs will bring the wood and smash Marlington's glass slipper season.

How can Marlington win the region and do it pretty convincingly and you have them 4th best in the region??

I think LV moved the ball well against Marlington and without the fumbled snap the game could have been 21-21 at half. Marlington QB is what helps this team with the running attack they have, size also is plus for them. LV would have the QB and he would make a great pitch to a back. This team will be hard to beat this year good luck. LV I think could play with Dover or the rest of the teams in R11. Look for them the next few years they have very good under classes coming.

I wouldn't go quite this far. I must admit, I saw Big Red play a couple times on TV and then in person against Dover. I only saw Sheridan once against Dover, and I saw Marlington a few times on TV then against Dover. I would have rated Steubenville as the best team in this region. Dover just played a near perfect game against them. It was a game going in that I figured Dover would need to play their absolute best to win, and they did that. It was probably as well as I have seen a Dover team play considering the stakes, at least offensively.

The Sheridan game Dover did not play their best, but neither did Sheridan. Sheridan ended up making the killer mistake, Dover took advantage and won.

The Marlington game Dover played a lot like they did against Sheridan. Except the Dukes played pretty much perfect football, except for all of the penalties. If Dover plays like they did against Big Red they would have had a shot, but they didn't and their season is over.

It really doesn't matter how you rate the teams. It was all about matchups in Region 11 come playoff time. I think Big Red would have beat Marlington because they had the athletes in the front 7 to stop the triple option without having to commit their DB's to the run the way Dover did, giving up the huge pass plays. But it doesn't matter because Big Red didn't match-up well that first weekend against Dover's spread attack. Marlington has played the best football in Region 11 and they are moving on to play Buchtel.

Good Luck to the Dukes.

No dog in this fight, but some of my buddies that are just area fans(garaway school district) agree with this assessment. They came away unimpressed with Marlington. To be honest, I thought Marlington was for real after the whooping they put on LV.

You should be worried that all of your many forum posts on Buchtel running all over & whipping Marlington don't come back & bite ya' in the foot :)
It 'aint gonna happen. Period.

With that being said, should be a very competitive & a fantastic game between two very good teams.

it really doesn't matter what others opinions are, Marlington is still playing and Dover and the rest LOST and will be watching Marlington play on. Dukes can take your opinions and wipe theirs butts with them as they gear up for another week of football.
