I said that if Ohio State throws more than 12 times per game they would lose? Like every game? Please produce where I said that. Why don't you be a Kansas football fan? Their fans are better. Oh, right, they suck.SportsAndLady;557660 wrote:I understand that. But it's just so overwhelming, especially on this site. I mean look at that clevelandbuck guy...i mean seriously? If OSU throws for more than 12 times a game, they're gonna lose. He said that lol

Anyone with an ounce of common sense know all fan bases of big time programs are the same. Anyone happen to hear the Florida fans booing their team out of the stadium last nite? Oh wait, only OSU fans do that! RIGHT! LOL

Show me a fan base that doesn't have folks who get out of control just a bit -- and I'll show you a football program that probably sucks ass most of the time.
Winning breeds expectations, and expectations can breed some idiot fan behavior.
That said, Ohio State played really bad, uninspired football in the first half of that game yesterday, and pretty much deserves whatever criticism you want to throw their way. But if you do that, you also have to acknowledge the amazing turnaround they made, the raw desire to win, and the never quit attitude (along with some great coaching adjustments).
Also, I defy anyone to show me perfect behavior in a fan base as large as Ohio State's. It doesn't exist and never will.

in the Toledo Blade this morning regarding the booing:
"So they booed. Not a couple of them or a dozen or even hundreds. Try thousands. It was loud. One might say the Buckeyes were washed in boos.
A few of them shrugged it off after the game.
“Well, we didn’t hear the boos,” lied linebacker Brian Rolle.
“I didn’t pay attention to it,” hedged defensive end Cameron Heyward.
“To be honest with you, I didn’t blame them,” said offensive guard Justin Boren.
Really? Dane Sanzenbacher, you’re a senior. You’ve lost four conference games in four years. Have you ever heard boos in the Horseshoe?
“I don’t think so,” the receiver from Toledo said.
It didn’t bother you?
“Well… I guess it’s a situation where we understand how obsessed our fans are for Ohio State football,” he said. “They live and die with us. Running off, I guess I was thinking I’d want to boo us too. So, um, is that politically correct enough?”
Sanzenbacher went on to say that it was the Buckeyes, not the fans, who had to make something happen. And he was part of that with a touchdown catch on one of the more bizarre plays of the season."

Give me a break...I can't even believe hoops showed up to this thread. The way he was talking about Heacock...and the way he was silenced by krambman's post about OSU's defense under him.
Oh and I'm not a damn IU fan retarded ass cbf.
Krambman gave stats that had NOTHING to do with what I was talking about, which is ironic, because it supports his argument. The whole time, I was talking about Heacocks gameplans in big games and how our defense is usually picked apart.
My second point is, you prove more and more how big of a simple minded fuck you are each time you post LOL.

Krambman was so adamant about Tress only ever winning 1 game after a bye, I wonder if he is sitting there today trying to figure out the math on how today, Tress sits at 3-4 after bye weeks?

People vent their frustration when a team looks like shit, which the buckeyes did, as you admit. I see no problem with people calling it as they see it when it comes to the team playing well below their standards.SportsAndLady;556892 wrote:F4F:
No. My point was it was halfway through the 2nd quarter, and people were calling for Heacock's job, saying this team is average, we were gonna lose, etc.
The game, in the 2nd quarter, isn't over. It's called adjustments, and the coaching staff (including Heacock) made great adjustments and they won by 24.
I"m not saying they weren't looking like crap..I even acknowledged how bad they were playing in the game thread. I just simply said don't freak out and over react so early.
If you agree the responses were true, then why are they dumb posts? If you believe someone is playing like shit how is it dumb to say so? Also, how do you know what Boise St. fans would or wouldn't say? Anecdotal evidence means nothing.Just because the responses were true, doesn't mean they weren't dumb posts. If Boise is playing one of their terrible conference games, and the team housed the opening kickoff...would a Boise fan say "FUCK! We look like shit! We're flat! We're losing!" No. Even though all that is true, it doesn't mean its necessary. Just STFU and watch the damn game.

Yes he did. McGloin was obviously keying on Torrence and it was working until the Pick 6. Wisconsin scouts had to have picked-up on that one. It'll be interesting to see if Wisky does something with it.Scarlet_Buckeye;558544 wrote:Torrence had a HORRENDOUS 1st half.

Torrence wasn't good. But OSU was playing a cover 3 the first half, and playing off the WR at the line. At half, they made adjustments, moving our DB's up to the line of scrimmage. That was the difference in the second half.

Florida got drubbed at home to drop their 4th loss of the disappointing season. Its a little different than being down 14-3 at halftime.
I'm all for being emotional, etc, but just wait till the damn game plays out. Too many overreact by jumping to conclusions after one play. And I get other fanbases do the same, but that doesn't change the fact that its ridiculous.

No they weren't, at least not Torrence. Torrence was playing in man, which is why he gave the 10 yards of cushion. He was afraid of getting beat deep, which shows considerable lack of confidence in one's ability.
For the record, I firmly believe that the team deserved every single boo they received at the end of the first half. For a team that is arguably as or more talented than any team in the country, the piss poor showing in the first half @Wisco and the first half against PSU were absolutely pathetic. What were the fans supposed to do, cheer for a team playing terribly?

Watching it live would have been bad but watching the Bucks sleep walk through the first half and have to listen to Brent Musberger call the game was almost unbearable. At least the second half the Bucks were able to shut McGloin's (a guy who has done nothing) mouth. I expected a slow start but come on that was awful but the second half thanks to the inspired play of the defense was a different story. I don't understand how fans can blame Pryor for the terrible offense the first half though, as for a game plan it didn't appear that he was given much help. 12 or 13 passes (6 in the first half) will not get the job done against a decent defense.

I can't understand for the life of me why we insist on playing soft coverage. We have the talent to play tight!

Really now? So I guess what I read and heard on the radio directly from the players and coaches was false. They in fact said they were playing in a cover 3 and playing off the line of scrimmage and made adjustments at half to come up and be more physical.lhslep134;559082 wrote:No they weren't, at least not Torrence. Watch the film of the entire game and watch Torrence.

If Torrence was running Cover 3, there would have been help underneath (which there wasn't), and Torrence wouldn't have playing 10 yards off the ball because his job would have been to backpedal from the start.
If they were playing cover 3, Torrence was out of position, and if they weren't, Torrence didn't trust himself not to get beat over the top.
Either way, his play in the first half left a lot to be desired.

The best OSU fan thread of all-time was the pre-game trash talk thread started by Danbury-something (I believe ... might have been Dave-something or Danville ... not really sure) after the Florida game in 2007. That was absolutely amazing for a good laugh.
But, I agree with others here for the most part. In the heat of the moment, when it looks like your team (especially one that was expected to challenge for a national title) is going down in humiliating fashion, it's hard not to let out some hyperbolic ire. As a Duke fan from '05 to '09, I sure as hell did.
With that said, certain OSU fans are certainly more awful than fans of other teams from my experiences. Not the majority, but many are. That also comes from living near the heartland of Buckeye country in Ohio all my life, so I am biased in that regard from such high exposure. I nearly threw up after OSU escaped Xavier in the '07 NCAA basketball tournament, and I had no vested interest in that game whatsoever other than wanting OSU gone.
So thanks for the laugh, Sport.
