Heacock and Bollman are both bums and Tressel's play calling doesn't help at all. This game has all the makings of an embarassment.

Whats wrong with this? Ohio State was playing like garbage in the 1st half.......thats what fans do. Why is this a big deal?

totally agree let the coaching staff react to a quarterback who they dont have much film on. Once they saw what he was doing and what he was doing well we made adjustsments at half time and shut them down in the 2nd half. The offense also found what was working and continued using those plays to put points on the board. The only thing i would like to see more is deep passes because they look like the best throws pryor makes

You can't deny that OSU looked pretty craptacular in the first half though. Our O-Line an D-Line were getting dominated. McGloin was picking apart our secondary. That's what most OSU fans were saying, and that is accurate.
OSU went into half-time and came out a ready to fight in the second half...

Theres nothing wrong with people expressing their frustration. The 1st half was awful to watch. What do you want people to say? "oh golly gee, at least they are playing hard" gimme a break. The Bucks looked flat and unprepared, theres nothing wrong with fans getting upset

I was less than thrilled with the 1st half. PSU could have put some more points on the board but they let us off the hook and a great great great play by Hines saved us. We rallied and pounded them in the end and thats all that counts.

There is nothing wrong with being pissed about a fucking 18 point favorite being down 14-3 at half. They played like absolute garbage. And Torrence is terrible (comparatively speaking of course, so anyone who would post something like this can save the bullshit "I don't see you out there" comments, because I'm not claiming I'm a Big 10 caliber CB). 1 play doesn't make up for the general lack of coverage all season.
I was never worried about winning the game, because honestly, Penn State IS a garbage team this year, but a lot of those posts from the first half were completely reasonable, and if I wasn't at the game I probably would have been making some of them myself.
Good 2nd half though. Go Bucks and enjoy the night everyone.

I think this is the first in-game thread for an OSU game I've posted on.
The purpose of an in game thread is to talk about the game..not talk about how the coaches need fired and how fucked the season is.

i think this is a swing and a miss from s&l. nothing unreasonable with those comments (especially with the way ohio state was playing in the first half). also, who doesn't ask for someone to be fired to vent frustration with that unit during a game thread? it's a game thread, it's going to happen...no need to judge an entire fanbase off one game thread

It's an in game thread where people can discuss, criticize, and vent about the game. After all, that is the point of an in game thread. At that point in time, a lot of those comments were warranted. OSU was flat out pathetic in the first half and they were very blessed to only be down 14-3 with that type of effort. They were being dominated and it was shades of Wisconsin all over again.
When you're supposed to be the class of the Big Ten and are playing for a conference title and a BCS Bowl, panic is definitely expected when you're in a 14-3 hole. Quit acting all high and mighty. Things go bad, passionate people react.....that's what happens.

Several of those quotes were true at the time they were posted in the thread. Quotes 2, 3, 4, 5 (half true), 9.
However, it does show how some fans are stupid and how others don't realize that the game isn't over until they've played four quarters.

Yeah I was going to say, it's easy to laugh at some of those statements now, but I mean they were very factual during the game. They were observations of how the team was playing. They were flat and they were getting dominated. I wonder how much football S&L actually watches...?

How about you stop singling out one fan base when EVERY FAN GROUP IN THE COUNTRY WOULD REACT THE SAME WAY IF THEIR TEAM HAD EXPERIENCED AS BAD A HALF OF FOOTBALL AS OSU PLAYED.
