I got chatting with some people and thought it'd be neat to come up with our versions of a 2010 Daily Record Area All-Star Team, FOR FUN, of course! Let's keep this positive, please.

Rule 1: No 2-way starters
Rule 2: Provide a backup for each offensive position (and defense if your knowledge allows)
Rule 3: Pick the offensive and defensive formation(s) of your choosing
Rule 4: Try not to be too biased towards the playoff teams (spread the love where possible)

Schools include: Wooster, Orrville, Triway, Cloverleaf, West Holmes, Loudonville, Tuslaw, and WCAL schools (Hillsdale, Dalton, Norwayne, Rittman, Waynedale, Northwestern, Smithville, Chippewa)

Here is mine:

OFFENSE

QB - D. Carmichael, Triway (Backup: B. Bauman, Rittman)
RB - G. Blevins, Dalton (D. Anderson, Wooster)
FB - G. Mackey, West Holmes (C. Neer, Northwestern)
WR1 - S. Polen, Triway (D. Brenner, Orrville)
WR2 - S. Turner, Orrville (R. Moore, Hillsdale)
WR3 - D. Turbeville, Rittman (Tight End: C. Williams, Waynedale)
OL - Hillsdale's offensive line (Orrville)

DEFENSE

DE - M. Pirman, Orrville
DL - D. Miller, Dalton
NG - C. Mullins, Waynedale
DL - E. Myers, Triway
DE - J. Ressler, Tuslaw
OLB - C. O’Rourke, Cloverleaf
ILB - M. Monheim, Orrville
OLB - A. Reidenbach, Loudonville
CB - D. Price, Wooster

Call me a complete homer...but Tre Simpon deserves a spot either as a RB or DB. I'd at least put him ahead of Wooster's Anderson.

I would agree...Nobody realizes he is right behind Dru Robinson in rushing yards for a career at Orrville....if you are that high on that list you have to be on this team.

Everyone is critiquing (which I have no problem with), but nobody is giving their own lists. I'm interested in who others think deserve a spot on this mythical "all-star" team.

My local knowledge ends with Orrville, Wooster & Triway. Don't know much about the county teams.

Pitman, I'm like others...............I don't know much about the other teams to make an all-star team of Wayne County. BUT, just out of curiousity, why does your thread title say "Daily Record" in it?

I always figured the Daily Record viewing area was when you were sitting on the pot? That is why I was sooo confused about this whole All Star thing.....I didn't think anyone could see me in there?
