I believe McKinley can compete a little better with the parochials because of their larger enrollment. I guess we'll just see, after the Austintownstruthersboardmancampbell Cardinals beat McKinley.
...(Austintownstruthersboardmancampbell)...funny (inaccurate) but funny!
Kids that live in Austintown and attend one of I think 3 parochial grade schools still open North of the Mahoning River go to UHS-
Struthers kids go to Struthers--no ifs ands or butts. & Campbell kids are the same as the Austintown kids but there are no longer any parochial feeder schools in Campbell as Holy Trinity has closed there.
Kids from St Charles & St. Lukes attend either BHS or Mooney depending on their religious beliefs for (4) more years of Catholic educatio or they choose a good school system in Boardman because they either can't afford the $ 6000.00 it cost to go to Mooney or are unwilling to do so.
I know most schools (don't do it) but Mooney puts in their football programs that are sold b/4 each home game the feeder school that the players and cheerleaders attended prior to going to CMHS.
Given the fact the the only feeder parochial schools still open on the south side of Mahoning Valley (St. Luke & St Charles in Boardman and Holy Family in Poland) about 1/2 to 3/4 of those kids attend Mooney and the rest go to the public schools that I and others like me fund with our tax dollars.
