Yahoo/AP (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101105/ap_on_go_co/us_pelosi_house_leadership) is reporting that Pelosi wants to stay on as the Dem leader in the House as Minority Leader after some pre-election speculation that she might step down from the House altogether if she lost the Speaker's job.

Heath Shuler of North Carolina may challenge her for the position.

Quite frankly if she has, indeed, decided to vie for the House Minority Leader slot I'm all for it. She failed miserably as Speaker and she will only serve to continue to lead the surviving House Dems down the path of ineptitude.

I honestly thought her hyper-inflated and highly delusional ego would have forced her to decide to bow out. But now that I think about it, I think she's decided to stay on to thumb her nose at the American electorate and create as much turmoil as possible for Boehner and the House Repubs before she finally retires.

The House Dems would be idiots to keep her on but we've all seen what's happened the past couple of years. It's like sheep being led to the cliff of further destruction.

So OC gang....what say you? Will the Dems select Queen Nancy to the Minority Leader slot or do you think she'll have to fight for the job?

Sure, why not. Let her take them down with her. Apparently she didn't get the message that outside of her district in California, no one in the country likes her.

I would just like to throw out that California is by far the worst state in the union. Can we vote them out?

How about we tell Mexico and all the illegal immigrants that they can have California and kick them out of the union. Sounds like a plan to me.

Pelosi should be happy to just be the ladies' room attendant.

If the Dem keep her as Minority Leader ..Great… just another nail in the coffin for the Democrat Party. She will make a ass of herself and the Dem …… even more.

As a Dem I say get rid of her. She did a terrible job as speaker and nothing she has done has demonstrated that she has any leadership abilities.

Heard the RNC changed their banner from "Fire Pelosi" to "Hire Pelosi". Funny what can happen overnight, eh? :)

My company is headquartered out of Northern California. The crazies out there actually think Pelosi is a moderate. Hate to see what constitutes a liberal in their minds.

Any CEO or coach whose organization or team gets their ass kicked as bad as the dems just did would have been fired the next day. Of course, dems in Washington do not live in the real world nor have they any inkling whatsoever of accountability, thus it appears she will be the minority leader ......... friggin' amazing.

The good news is, it will cost them even more seats in '12, and the white house.

An interesting read. Pelosi is out of her mind - unbelievable how she would retain power. She hasn't done anything other than marrying a rich dude and being a career (cough, royalty) politician in one of the most outlier districts imaginable.

I don't think she has any concept of a typical American's life.

Pelosi re-elected as DEM leader:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101117/ap_on_re_us/us_congress_pelosi

Funny how two years ago many pundits thought the GOP would become a regional party. In 2010 perhaps you can say the same with the DEMS - control NoCal and the Pacific NW, the East Coast from DC to the north and what's left of the unionized upper midwest.

150-43 was the vote...this is the best news I've had all week! I'm sorely tempted to break out a "driving the car off the cliff" analogy, but I think that one's already been kinda beat to death. ;)
